Vatos Tacos Grill & Cantina South West

I ordered a Mexican Candy, mango shooter as my drink with an unsweet tea on the side. I came at happy hour so some items were cheaper. The Mexican candy shooter had the overpowering mango flavor. I couldn't taste any tequila. For an appetizer I ordered the fried potato tacos, which was served with lettuce and pickled onions on top. With cojita cheese and what appears to be sour cream drizzle. The potato filling itself, did lack a little seasoning. The taco shell was crispy around the edges. The green salsa that they served with the chips was a delight. There was so much cilantro in it, it is my favorite at this place.I ordered one birria taco and one beef cheek tacos. You can tell that it is beef cheek because of the fattiness with the meat.The beef cheek taco is full of flavor. If you are into this kind of meat, you will love it here. The birria taco meat is excessively dry but it is flavored very well. It is a good and a bad taco. The good being the flavor in the meat itself and the bad being that it was too dry.I did order the posole but I have yet to try it. I don't have room, to eat it, so I'll just take it home. All the other tacos were to go. Service was exceptional! When I come back, I'll try the enchiladas. Loud bar, good for game day. The place is very clean.

Vatos tacos is a casual restaurant well attended by locals. Very family friendly. They have a full bar and numerous TV's. There is a jukebox playing whatever music the current clients enjoy. I find it a bit loud but it's an atmosphere many enjoy. I stop in every once in a while for their Queso Fundito, a bubbling hot cheese dip with chunks of chorizo, peppers & onion served with tortilla chips. It's tasty but let it cool enough so you don't melt the inside of your mouth!It is served in a small cast iron skillet. It stays nice, warm & melty. The staff is always polite but every time I've eaten there I always have to ask for cutlery and napkins when they serve my food. Its as if they don't notice I need it .

Came here on a Friday night w the work hubs and had some new bites. A gal recommended I try the Chili Relleno. I am a huge relleno snob...but this one, is definitely at the top of my list! The sauce was delicious and homemade. Margarita was good but definitely needed a bit more tequila; slightly weak for my liking. I prefer a heavy pour. Service was excellent and quick! This place is close to my home and has great hours and prices. Ambiance is...kinda overstimulating-feels like a lot. Regardless, I'm sure I'll be back for another drink!

This is truly authentic Mexican food. auténtica comida mexicana. We tried the Mexican flag burrito with Birria, two Mulitas, a quesadilla with Carne Asada, one Sope and one taco. All of it was truly amazing full of flavor and seasoned to perfection. I felt like I was eating at my mom's kitchen. Highly recommend it as one of the best Mexican food places in town. Even my picky eater kids finish their quesadilla and mulitas.

Eaten in restaurant here and ordered twice on DD. The ambiance of the place is cute and the waitress was very nice and food was good, the michis were so good. But on DD the food has not been a good experience. The shrimp ceviche was chunky and delicious the first time we ordered but the second time (today) was like minched small pieces and mushy.. very texturally unappetizing. Also ordered the sope, the masa was thick and not very flavorful and the al pastor was very fatty. The quesadilla loco was very large and very good, I wish they had a way to pack it better tho cause it was basically stacked in the box which made it get soggy/oily.

Great menu, delicious food. Seamless service to a very large family group. Lots of space in the dining room with beautiful authentic sombreros decorating the walls. You will leave full and happy

The entire vibe is right on!!! Lighting was perfect, decor is also perfect. I don't think I've ever had tacos better than these, maybe at home??? We kept it simple and stuck with vato tacos--- tried them all!

Really shady about giving you hot saucer . Don't get me wrong, I love the food here, but what am I going to do with the food if I don't get sauce. What is Mexican food without hot sauce?

I had a great experience thanks to Miah. She was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. The food is also so good every time!! Highly recommend for anyone who wants good Mexican food and good service

Beware if you haven't been to Vatos Southwest location, they have the worst service if you go at night on the weekend! They're always short staffed, they take too long to make your drinks if your sitting in the bar area while all their bartenders are chatting with eachother and dining staff are too busy talking to people! They will ignore your presence and they always mess up on their food orders! Their silverware and glasses are always dirty and stained. Watch out if you ask for more complimentary salsa w/chips, they over charge you for more without telling you, and akk additional extra sides you will be charged for! One of their managers who is short with stalky built wearing glasses is rude and has a horrible attitude and will charge you a credit card fee of $3.95 included in your bill!! And if you ask them to correct any order adjustments that you did not order or want they will get hostile toward you and refuse to remove or waive the corrections on your bill!! The Southwest location is the worst and has poor food, so please beware if you decide to dine in or go for drinks!!
