Vatos Tacos Grill & Cantina

Food was on so good!! We were looking for tacos. On arrival, we were greeted quickly. Not day drinkers, so opted for sodas. We weren't offered refills at any time. Hubby had asada fries. Three people could have shared. They were delicious!! I had tacis dorados de birria. DELICIOUS!!! Heavenly sloppiness. They had a side of habanero onions. These were a picked onion, and they were so yummy!!! And the perfect warmth spiciest. The food was fresh and served hot. We will return for sure!! Monica of food, we ate it too fast.

This sports bar is small, with the bar being the center of things. Service is assertive, seemingly to favor the patrons at the bar and not so much at the tables. Our waitress appeared to be having a rough day and so we felt a bit intimidated by her gruff demeanor but as the evening wore on, she appeared more relaxed and more catering to us and not so much the bar. Being a Latino eatery, I was surprised there were no complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the chips and salsa, guacamole, and carne asada fries for the table and a shrimp taco for me. My friends ordered a cheesy fondue dip (which came out burned and replacedwith a torta de pollo) and taquitos de papa. My shrimp taco was excellent! The shrimp were of high-quality and grilled to perfection. The carne asada fries were decadent and delicious. I had a virgin pina colada on the rocks--which tasted strange--because the waitress informef me the establishment did not have a blender. In spite of all this, we tipped our server well. Would I sine here again? For the shrimp taco and the carne asada fries. And probably eat at the bar.

Hey you went to vato's tacos for the first time in a few years since I live in the east side didn't want to go to the new one cuz it was clear across town as always nice spot we went close to closing around 8:00 we have plenty of time to eat before they close the waiter we had she was on point My lingua tacos were on point The quesadilla was good The game was on and it was nice and quiet so I guess maybe the best time to go to that spot is when it's not too crowded it's not a lot of people I mean the service was going to be on point anyway but hey it's a good spot to just chill when it's not busy I think it was a Tuesday night that we went on it was around 8:00 so if you ever want to get some decent lingua tacos and sit down restaurant hey just the place to go I definitely recommend it definitely back sooner than later really nice spot check it out

The food was very good , each taco was a different meat. I really enjoyed being able to mix the meat choices. The salsa was very well executed and full of flavor. The corn tortillas are not home made, so it was the typical taste. The rice and beans reminded me of my grandmother they are that good. The service is good, asking if we needed anything and has checked on us the appropriate amount of times. The ambiance is loud and very sports bar. Plenty of tvs to watch the game and not miss a minute. The only complaint I have as a handicapped person is there needs to be more ADA assessable seating. They have tall tables and one regular table. This makes it very difficult for those who are in a wheelchair or cane to find seating. As we are enjoying our lunch a family with an elderly man came in, he was using a cane to assist with his walking they looked around and walked out due to us using the only ADA friendly table.

We walked in with 6 people in our party, blatantly ignored by both waitresses at the host stand after about 20 minutes and tired of standing we sat down at the table, and then we were ignored even more. How dare you?

Vatos Tacos is a pretty typical Mexican Food joint. They have tasty grub and ice cold beer. What separates Vatos Tacos from other cantinas is that Vatos has the best chile relleno in Bakersfield. Absolutely love the Vatos red sauce they use top the chile relleno. Excellente!

If I could give zero stars I would me and my mom came to have dinner for the first time here and a big regret food was okay and now let me tell you about the service Completely horrible not friendly or welcoming and one waiter for all the tables is no good and had to wait so long to be seat Just to wait another 30 mins before ordering aware waiter never checked on aware table had to flag him down to come take aware order and silver ware was never brought to the table intell we asked for it are we supposed to eat with aware hands also if you asked for exra lemons or salsa young lady made a face I will never return to this place and will let all my family and friends to never come here completely ridiculous also menus were never taken from aware table to the put to make space on aware table had to sit them next to us we were going to order a dessert that we have been wanting to try from instagram service so bad that we did not order it

Only in town for the day, we stopped here for a quick meal...the ambience was really cool....so many screens showing different games, the service (although it was busy) was on point. Very attentive and friendly. BUT the FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! We got street tacos and the Chili Verde....so good! I wanted to order more but we will just need to comeback....

Small hole in the wall place with great customer service and good food. They bring a bowl of warm and perfectly crispy chips with a side of delicious salsa. I ordered al pastor and carne asada tacos and I would definitely order the al pastor tacos again. Minus one star for the bland carne asada.

Food was delicious Love the ambiance, I'll be back always ! Service was great, especially the tall gentleman. He was great !
