We didn't have a lot of time to spend here but I wish we did. After visiting the Silver City Ghost Town, we headed back toward the lake and saw this store. It's a lot to take in and I can tell by the few racks I quickly perused that there were plenty of hidden treasures waiting for someone to find them. I did find my own treasures, though. I was shocked to find some gorgeous vintage lamps in working order for $9--not each but in total. Wow! We knew there would hardly be any room in our Forester driving home from our trip but we loved the lamps so we squished everything in there. I appreciate that staff leaves you alone and they accepted my debit card for payment. It was so quiet inside. No waiting in line either. They run a food pantry out of this place, too, and it seems they're always looking for volunteers. I'm glad a place like this exists. It was really fun to find such great items at nice prices. I hope they're still in business when I come back in the future!

Small-town thrift store with a bunch of stuff crammed into a warehouse type building. Don't come here looking for glamour or shine. No public restrooms.I bought paperback books (39 cents each) and note cards for writing letters. Prices are not clearly posted.

I have one rule for all businesses and that is, be open during your listed business hours. Whether a local volunteer organization or a corporate chain, the bare minimum that you should do is be open during the hours you list on your own building. I arrived at Valley Thrift a little after 4:30pm and well before their closing time of 4:45pm. Their sign said Open. I walked in and was told by the woman at the register that they were closed. I looked at my phone and confirmed it was well before 4:45pm. I planned on seeing if they had any DVDs I wanted and, if not, I'd planned to leave a $5 dollar donation. Shame I did not get a chance to do either. I guess they do not need my business or donations, so they'll receive neither. I can't comment on the prices, service, or store's contents, but I can say they don't stay open during their own posted hours. I want to leave 1 star, but I'll try not to wreck their rating and leave 2.

I have been shopping at this place since I was 12 or so. A few years down the line from there, the three hour drive it worth it! I always leave with heaping bags, literally of clothing and jewelry. Some of my most quirky and favorite pieces came from here. The staff is distant but kind and unassuming. Beware the heat in summer. Even though there is no dressing room to speak of, the prices are decent enough to purchase everything and give it away later if it doesn't fit. Always pick up the Grab Bag!
