I would give this place a 5 star but the staff itself is really poor the medical assistant are so rude, I don't understand why it just seems like they hate there job this place needs new staff most definitely.

So far, my first Neurologist appointment with Dr. Punsalan has been amazing. She's a great listener and showed great concern about my health. She got me a couple of brain scans ordered and a new medicine called Topamax and after a lengthy conversation into my health history we're good to go. Unfortunately my issues are with the staff thus far. Dismissive, always busy and put you on hold for long periods of time. My neurologist said the medication might not work and if I had any complaints of side effects, we could just switch over to a new medicine. However, switching medicines has not been easy. The unbearable shocking in my hands and feet with burning pain was written off as "oh that's just normal, it'll last two weeks" by the staff and I would have to wait another two weeks to get off this damn medication I don't want to take. The awful moodswings, depressions, episodes of anger, this medication has rendered my anti depressants basically ineffective. I have a past history of suicidal thoughts, which is the main reason I'm afraid to take anymore of this medication because I feel like I could easily start hurting myself. So now I've had to contact my pharmacist so they can send a note over to the office, and had to contact my physicist letting them know that Topamax is ruining my depression treatment plan.

I get it! Based on your email, there should be no negative comments. I called their office twice before I posted my previous comment. I believed I would get an action if I posted a comment in Yelp. And that is when it happened. Dr Ravi is an excellent doctor and my comment was how my prescription request was handled. It took several requests from August 5 to August 11 before it was acted on.

They don't get back to you when you call your put on hold for 15-20 minutes I go in for back issues to find out the doctor is a hand specialist

If I could give a ZERO star I would. My son's symptoms actually worsened with lack of personalized care or knowledge on his particular illness. In fact, his lack of a follow up plan for any problems after switching his medication unnecessarily - caused more harm than good. His office staff was rude and unhelpful. When you have a sick loved one and you want the best - this is not the place for you. They have extremely LONG wait times. When you see a specialist like Neurology- you usually have a severe need - they have no sense of urgency and no way to reach the office if something goes wrong if the care plan they initiated goes wrong- you are on your own. We requested to be referred out.

Impossible to get through to people. I'm returning a call from the office itself about an important medical issue. The automated phone system is not user-friendly and seems designed to discourage calls. Once I get through that automated system, someone answers just quickly enough to say 'please hold' and then, after 15 minutes or so on hold, they disconnect me completely and I have to start the process over again. This is all in an attempt to return their phone call asking me to contact them about a medical issue. When someone is finally reached, staff is rude and unprofessional. You'll see from other reviews here that is is a recurring theme.

Be warned- I made an appointment here, and they had supposedly verified when I made the appointment that they took my insurance. They called an hour before my appointment to re-verify my insurance because they had gotten the number wrong (she said), then said that they didn't actually take my insurance and they'd have to cancel my appointment. The DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT. That I had been waiting over a month for with pretty serious symptoms. Now I am back at square one and probably at least a month out from being able to get in with another neurologist. And I have a pretty standard insurance for CA, through my employer: Anthem Blue Cross.
