I visited recently to get braces for both of my hands to support my wrists for carpal tunnel. Making the appointment was easy and the lady who scheduled me was very friendly and was able to fit me in quickly. These days, it doesn't matter if you have a PPO or HMO it's usually a month out to be seen anywhere, but she gave me an appointment about a week out.I've been to this facility before because my son needed crutches about 6yrs ago after he tore his ACL/meniscus and I remember this place being super friendly at that time. When I came for my recent visit the front desk staff was very friendly and so was the gal who brought me back to the room, but after I was put in the room the lady provider who saw me was not very pleasant. When she walked in, she didn't even introduce herself, so I did not know I was even being seen. She talk to me probably about 5 minutes about the reason I was there, then opened a door that led to a storage room, grabbed the braces, put one on me that didn't really fit and just told me that's how you put them on and said I was all set.I paid my coinsurance when I was leaving and the girl checking me out was pleasant. The reason why I rated this visit 3 stars is because even though the rest of the staff was pleasant, I felt like the provider could care less why anyone is there. She didn't look happy and didn't look like she cared to help me. It makes patients feel like they shouldn't be here.To be honest, I wish I had gone to BPOC, but because of conflict of interest, I ended up coming here. It's too bad that you can't expect the same hospitality as the other guys here. I won't be back until I need new braces which won't probably be for a long while, so if you guys need braces, I would probably go to the other guys.

I was referred to VIPO after suffering a displaced fracture in my toe over the weekend. I didn't have an appointment, but was assured they would do their best to work me in. I was treated professionally, and kindly, by each person I came into contact with from intake, insurance, to Ms Garcia, CFo, who fitted me for the proper boot. I'd give 10 stars if I could. What one might have expected to be a long wait, and unpleasant all around experience, was pleasant. I couldn't have been treated better. I appreciate this group and their professionalism, experience, kindness, and care.Thank you!

My husband had a prescription for compression socks and this is where the doctor told him to go. If you could sum it up in a few words you would say fast friendly and reasonable. The lady who waited on my husband took great care of him. They were quite busy yet he never felt rushed and thought it was a great store.

This is an awesome local family run business. They accommodate so many people it is amazing. I had forgotten my prescription and they contacted the Dr's office for me so I was still able to be seen by the practitioner. Very nice and friendly staff. It is nice to be greeted every time I go in there. Thankyou Vipo staff!

I had a terrible experience at this business. I have a disability and standing is very difficult. Additionally DMV has delayed my new ID and I only have my receipt. No picture. However, as a State of CA employee I do have a picture ID along w/ the name of my work site. While standing FOREVER and in pain at the intake window--with Rx, Two Ins cards and my state of CA employee picture ID--a badly groomed dirty girl w/radically colored hair told me as the Office Manager, my paperwork would not pass. I needed State of CA ID because Insurance X would only accept DMV ID. I had never had this problem before while I was waiting on DMV. I had been to multi Drs offices, Phyther, etc. w/no problem. Additionally I had Insurance Z--which I tried to point out. I told her my concerns and she continued to insist that the WRONG INS would not accept my ID. At this time I was in so much pain, I almost passed out. She demonstrated no concern for my well being, never acknowledge her mis-understandings. It doesn't matter HOW GOOD THE OFFICE is when a patient cannot get by a poorly trained and uncaring office staff. BE WARNED.

I love this dental place, the best I have ever went. Everyone is so polite and hard working especially the receptionist belen. I'm in the process of getting braces and they've been giving very good advice for everything and anything I really do recommend people to go to this dental place the best I have ever went too.

I initially had contact with VIPO when I first moved to Bakersfield in 2004. I wear bilateral AFO's and just needed a new piece of Velcro on one brace - which had never been a big deal in wearing AFO's for over 25 years. I was accustomed to the businesses just redoing the piece at no charge and sending me on my way in 10-20 minutes max. This place made it such a big deal you would have thought I was asking for the Eiffel Tower to be shrunk & moved to Alaska! For Pete's sake - they demanded $30 for a 6" x 1 1/2" piece of Velcro. I said demanded, because of their exceptionally rude verbal manners and the undue length of time it took, as I stood there waiting for them to stop debating, to tell me what the charge would be. I didn't know who was more rude & unprofessional: the orthotist or the office workers. I never planned to go back again. Unfortunately I was directed to this place in late July of 2013 to have my AFO's replaced with Kinetic Research products. It should have been completed within a 1-2 week time frame. It is now mid-October and I am still waiting for my AFO's! These are basically a 'off the shelf' model type that just needs to be selected by the makers in Florida to meet my particular needs. So there was no reason why VIPO never bothered to try to place this order, the orthotist never tried to communicate with me, he never returned my phone calls or the calls from the expert at UCLA, he did not respond to emails or messages. He made me waste precious gasoline (at $4 a gallon) coming into the office when the product had not even been delivered. Each time I came to the place, as I was directed to do, the office workers called me into the back area by both my first and last name - so much for privacy. They should only use your first name to maintain privacy and HIPPA standards. It is not like they have 25 people waiting in that stuffy little room. The owner/orthotist would tell an office worker (with no medical training or knowledge) to call me to relay what he was saying. Not once would he make any effort to try to call me, he would not communicate with me regardless of what I or the office worker asked for. How unprofessional can a place like this be? Save your time, your good or bad health and save money ... do not go there. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS UNTIL THEY CHANGE FOR THE BETTER! Why are they in such a business if they do not want to deal with people who are physically disabled?
