The good: Nice and clean. Good price. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. Easy check in. Decent free breakfast. The Bad: crazy LOUD traffic. Loud pipes. Kids driving back and forth on Panama Street. Bring your earplugs!!!

Clean, staff is friendly, plenty of parking. Continental breakfast was a plus. In a Main Street. Good for families.

I had booked a room at vagabond south for two nights. And during my stay while I was asleep someone tried to break in my room by removing the screen and opening the window. Once I yelled they ran and security wasn't even around. I was so upset that I went to the office to tell them what had happened and all they said that I should of gone in before 1pm, I was in the office 10 mins before 1pm and I still couldn't get my refund for the night I didn't stay there. All they said was I can move you to another room but the refund is still no. I was so scared from the person trying to break in that I didn't want to stay there anymore. I will never recommend this place to no one again. I even tried calling and going in to speak to a manager or supervisor and the lady kept telling me they are not in they sick..

In short: DO NOT STAY HEREI will start with the worst part: this place double charged me for my stay and then tried to say I hadn't paid. When I went to the the front desk about their mistake, they told me I was trespassing and had to leave. Please protect your wallet and go anywhere else!I had to stay several weeks in Bakersfield, and moved hotels occasionally to try new places/prices. This was by far the worst! They convinced me stay here with the promise of a "newly renovated room" - it was not true. The room looked like it was renovated in the 2000's. Light fixtures were bent and broken. The flooring was cracked and dirty. The toilet was small and low to the ground. You could barely open the bathroom door without hitting the toilet. The room was super small. The room lights were on motion detectors, so if you sat still they would turn off. The chairs in the room were made of hard plastic and awkward, like old school chairs. They said they would have breakfast. They had cereal and a waffle maker, but no waffle batter. When we requested batter, it took a half an hour for them to provide any.There were some dilapidated cars taking up prime parking spots next to rooms. Some lacked tires, some lacked license plates. I don't know what they were doing there. Individuals were also clearly meeting up in the parking lot to do drug deals. It is not a good neighborhood and the hotel is obviously involved with some other odd business dealings. The parking lot constantly reeked of weed. I died not feel safe leaving my belongings in the car.Do not stay here! They are incompetent, lying, thieves. The rooms are horrible and the neighborhood is bad.

If i could give it no stars, i would. Absolutely terrible place to stay. Bugs as soon as we came in. The neighbors kept the door open with peoplecoming and going. Arguing and a loud dog barking. This is the worst place I've ever stayed. Not worth it at all. I would rather pay $200 for a night than ever stay here again. Worst hotel ever. And I'm not exaggerating.

Rooms are all roach infested. We tried 4 different rooms. Furniture dirty as hell. Staff didn't care. Housekeeping suck. They half ass their jobs. They don't sweep right. We bought bug spray to keep the roaches at bay.

Nothing is perfect. Room 209, it's clean and decent. I checked the bed frame and bed, they took care of the bed. It has bed cover and layers to cover. I feel safe from bed bugs. I went there for traffic ticket from San Francisco. Front desk are very polite. I didn't get to check out the breakfast. It was nice they have complimentary. I wish I can send tip. It's nice that it's close to Dennys diner.

The floor had sand all over it. Towels for 1 in a 2 bed room. You pay for ice. Yelling people next door, most of the night. We got up before 6 am and left. Squeaky bed frame. The flooring laminate is chipped & lifted. Hot & cold are plumbed backwards in shower (rm 125). Dog area has feces not picked up- bag holder was empty - I always carry bags so I am prepared. Breakfast is free not alot to choose from, cereal or waffle. They get 1 star for ample parking.

I went to Motel 6 last night I sat in the center of the room and I said I can't believe that Mr boat dead at Motel 6 allows that to be a motel it was infested it was gross the floor was sticky I was embarrassed to tell my wife that I rented that room I hope I get my money back I sat for like 5 minutes at Motel 6 south in Bakersfield it was a horrible experience needless to say that at Denny's right across from the Vagabond Motel I observed the back of my motel from the outside I didn't see too much traffic not nearly half the traffic or any traffic I met the maid they were cleaning the room that I was going to and they informed me at this place is a clean blankets clean pillows which made me very happy because as a construction worker you don't want to lay your head on somebody else's Lynn for the price you can't beat it I advise all construction workers to come here and make sure you tip the maids that's the only way to get your s*** nice and clean they were doing it already but they'll do it I want to thank the vagabond for me having getting ready to have a good night a rest

Everything was amazing, I got help by the amazing receptionist Sandy. Walking in she had such an amazing smile it really made my night... I was having the worst day and Sandy really made it so much better. The room was nice and cozy..I also got an amazing price for the night. I'll be staying here when I come back to Bakersfield.
