Tulare County Museum

This museum is a gem with a large display of indigenous baskets, tools and information; antique guns and saddles, model trains, historical dress and town information in the main building. I especially enjoyed the various antique typewriters and the recreated doctors and dentists office (scary looking x-ray and drilling equipment). The new agricultural farm worker history and implement building was very informative with details on each wave of immigrant workers and what they contributed to the community and to farming. There are several out buildings such as one room schools, a residence, a printing building which have been moved to this site along with a blacksmith shop, farm implement shed and a very interesting historic rail caboose. This museum is full of beauty, history, and memories to last a lifetime. Each exhibit is carefully crafted, and you can easily spend a whole day here. It only costs $6 parking and then a donation of your choice. My husband and I had such a great time exploring. This museum reminds me of Calico Ghost town, Knotts Berry Farm, combined with a mix of little house on the prairie. I loved the emphasis on the native Americans, Mexicans in farming, and the US military. I definitely recommend this museum. Let's keep museums alive!!

Visiting area & visited Museum for area history. Fare entry price. Self tour of entire museum. Very well kept & informative. I would highly recommend to all to become familiar with area history.

Find your place in the Wild West. The museum is well kept and the surrounding park is an oasis in the desert! Fun for all!

Cutest little museum in the middle of nowhere! If you have to be in Tulare where there is nothing else to do, this museum is worth a tour. They have a huge collection of military uniforms from all over the world and all of the wars. That was our favorite part of the museum. Lots of other local stuff about the farming history in the area and athletes who grew up there. The staff are beyond helpful and so excited to show you around their museum. They are very knowledgable about the history of Tulare and very nice. They have a separate side room where they seem to features different shows. They had a local artists photography displayed there and some of it was also for sale. They have a small gift shop as well with some books on the area! Nice hidden gem!

Very nice and cozy museum to see the history of MidCalifornia. I recommend to stop by here if you are driving thru this valley.

Great museum full of local history!! Great for adults and kids. Free admission but please donate!
