Ordered through a 3rd party delivery, the Taco Salad is one of the best things on the menu.

Wow. What a treat. My friends and I stopped in on a Saturday expecting to find La Fonda. Instead we found Tortuga and we are really glad we did. Hostess/bartender/server was a beautiful young lady with a gracious smile and provided awesome service. Lunch dishes were reasonable at $12. They have standard Mexican food and SUSHI! The seven of us ordered a variety of different items including a couple of the sushi options and everything was TERRIFIC! Delicious all the way around. The food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen with only one cook so I cannot rate Tortuga five stars but we will definitely be back.

Went for lunch with the wife and didn't disappoint. Great lunch specials I had shredded beef and cheese enchiladas loved them wife had shrimp cocktail she loved the size of the shrimp. Waitress was very friendly and the service was great. We'll be back soon. I highly recommend trying this hidden gem.

Downtown today at the groomer next door. I think this place had a different name not too long ago. I had the two rich taco lunch special with rice and beans. I think $11.99 which for 2024 was a surprise price to me. The fish is tilapia and is grilled which is great for me over breaded and fried. The tacos were doble tortilla and yuge!! Really well balanced flavors with just a little kick. The rice was Mexican rice but I chose the refried beans and they were silky and delicious with some whole beans in there too. Complimentary chips and salsa were good, salsa was rich but no pica. Didn't ask for an alternative salsa because everything just went together so well. Really a filling meal, I haven't sat in a restaurant in a bit and really just chowed down on good food in a while. Definitely will be back. Servers were nice and on the job without being pests. Food comes out quick so if you have a short lunch this place will make good reasonably priced food quick and in a hurry. Dining in or out, I chose inside by the tv playing vintage norteño music not too loud and really enjoyed a good lunch in a good spot. Didn't need dinner either. Oh the tilapia was perfectly I mean perfectly grilled. Firm but not crusted or dry and so flavorful. That's it!

Ran and operated by a local family. Quality Fresh ingredients used in all of their entrees. Best Chile Verde in Bakersfield...Hands down.
