We are here for a birthday celebration this evening, so what is more fun than Teppanyaki for a crowd! James was our chef this evening. He was entertaining and a lot of fun & cooked us a great meal. The food here is always fresh and delicious. You have the choice of Teppanyaki dining, sushi or ordering off the menu. They have a lovely setting with a Koi pond as you enter. A very small sushi bar and table dining if you aren't in the mood for the Teppanyaki table. Very family friendly as well. They have been providing delicious meals in this location for many years. Come try them out.

Such a fun tepanyaki experience! We called in early before coming in to see if there was a spot for the tepanyaki table and glad there was! Our chef was great at entertaining us and did so many cool tricks! The food, especially the scallops, were delicious. Would love to come back again!!

We recently went to Tokyo Garden to celebrate a birthday party. I feel like the service was very rushed and they kept trying to get us out of there. The Teppanyaki was some what bland and wasn't packing as much flavor as you would hope for out of a 40 dollar plate. I will say, the fried rice was delicious and just the right amount of crispy. The sushi rolls were also fantastic! They were both so flavorful and well balanced. Hana Fuji Apple sake was phenomenal and paired well with the sushi rolls. If you're coming for sushi it's an excellent place, but if you're going for teppanyaki there's better places in town!

Really sad to write this review. I moved out of town for about 15 years and when I left TG was one of the best restaurants in town. Sad to say that is no longer the case. Right when you walk in the vibe is so blah! There is real musk smell in the air like there is or was a roach problem( didn't see any signs of roaches) service was definitely below average and the sushi menu was just off, it was really boring and hard read, honestly we wanted to leave because nothing really seemed worth ordering. Prices were definitely higher than the food was worth. The sushi was just ok. Just sad to say that we won't be coming back and I hate to leave reviews like this but hopefully the right people see these reviews and get this place back to its hay day! The review in reality is a 2.5 but I didn't want to kill em too as but just being honest.

As you walk in the lights are low but light enough to see. It's a nice place for casual or dressy attire. They have a koi pond which is nice. The service is always great and the cook who cooks your food in front of you is always friendly and talkative. I made a reservation on a Friday for 5pm. We get there, and to our surprise we had the place to ourselves. It was a nice and intimate date. 40 minutes later they start getting more people. My husband had the steak and lobster, and I had the steak and shrimp. The rice and veggies were great. This place is great for parties of 1 to 20. They always do a great job.

Had my birthday celebration yesterday with a large group and this is our families go to when celebrating birthdays! Love the koi pond in the front entrance! I ordered the scallop and chicken teppanyaki meal. The chef who cooked for us was very entertaining and promptly gave me a birthday wish. Staff was very attentive and constantly refreshing drinks throughout meal. The fried rice was cooked to perfection with a delicious sesame flavor. The scallops were seasoned perfectly and were buttery soft. The chicken was delicious with the sauce the chef prepared. Best Teppanyaki in town! Bakersfield classic staple!

EXCELLENT Teppanyaki!!! The best in Bakersfield. This is a good-sized restaurant with a great atmosphere. Very cute decorations & even an indoor koi pond. The New York steak was phenomenal, along with delicious miso. We've had filet & lobster in the past, which was also delicious. Our chef was James & he was highly requested by the other patrons at our table. He kept it fun & personal. The rest of the staff was friendly & accommodating. Definitely the best spot for Teppanyaki!
