Best pu pu pu pupusas on the I-5! When traveling, I'd take pupusas over In-N-Out any day. Yes, I just said that and I'm from California too. Oh boy, don't kill me hardcore fans.I've been coming here for over a decade and finally just now taking a minute to showcase them.. not like they really need it. They're the best around town and people know it. Tita's used to have an actual restaurant way in the back AND a food truck in front of AM/PM, but the restaurant didn't offer much more. The restaurant isn't there anymore, but the food truck still is. Anyway, the ambiance of the food truck is way better. Open outside seating under a shaded covering. Which means dog friendly! These are the best pupusas ever!! Why?1. They are grilled to crispy perfection.2. They are FATTIES, loaded with gooey cheese and filling.3. The dough to filling ratio is perfect. The dough isn't too thick or dense.Calabaza Pupusa (Squash) 5/5*Loroco Pupusa (Loroco Flower) 5/5*I can never remember which one I like more, so I always order both! Both are extremely cheesy and will ooze out once you cut into it. There are nice bits of squash or loroco flower that give some texture. The flavor is on the bland side, but paired with curtido and salsa, it's perfecto..Revuelta Pupusa (Chicharron) 4/5*These aren't the fat chunks of chicharron you eat as a snack. It's minced down and scattered throughout the cheese and isn't very strong in pork flavor. However, you do get a bit of saltiness that you don't get in the Calabaza or Loroco. Not my favorite but it's the only pupusa choice with meat.Tacos 5/5*These street tacos come with handmade fluffy, soft corn tortillas, loaded with your choice of protein, the works-cilantro, onion, with sides of lime, radish, red salsa, and a green guacamole type salsa. I got the tripa and asada and both were juicy with great flavors.Sausage Breakfast Burrito 5/5*I thought this would be subpar, but wow was it satisfying! It was huge and evenly distributed, so you get a good mouthful of all ingredients in each bite. The flour tortilla was soft and meat wasn't dry.As soon as you place your order, you hear the ladies inside the truck slapping them around, so you know they're made fresh to order. The pupusas come out SO hot and crispy, once you cut into one, the scalding hot gooey cheese oozes out and burns a layer of your lips off. But it's soo worth it. Cool it down with the sweet & sour refreshing crunch of curtido, slather on some spicy salsa, and you have the perfect bite.Next time you're passing Buttonwillow, do your tastebuds a favor and try these amazing pupusas. The exit isn't very obvious with the signage so probably best to Google Maps your way there. There are also two other food trucks around selling pupusas, etc., but don't get confused and make sure you're going to Tita's. You can tell which one by the crowds of folks eating at the tables.

4 stars because they were a little slow on the day that we came. This is a food truck so the atmosphere and ambiance isn't much to write home about. We ordered the Al pastor and carne asada tacos and the loroco/cheese and jalapeno/cheese pupusas. The tacos were good, the Al pastor was obviously better than the asada. Among the pupusas, the loroco was interesting because the taste reminded me of what jasmine flowers smell like. There was lots of cheese in both pupusas and they were fat and stuffed. I liked the jalapeno/cheese a lot and thought they could've added more jalapenos. The accompanying sauces were good but the coleslaw was just average. This is a great road side stop if you want good Salvadoran food. They have open air parking right next to the truck. Just be prepared for whatever the weather is going to be like.

dude the first time i got the beef pupusas combo plate here, i was driving out of LA early on a Monday morning after camp flog gnaw weekend in dodgers stadium. i put 100% of my sleep deprived faith in apple maps for this one....and it did NOT disappoint. first, this huge ahh portion was only $16 ish....AND THE STALEST GARLIC NOODLES I BOUGHT AT CFG THE NIGHT BEFORE WERE $22!!!! I WAS SOOO MAD THINKING ABOUT THAT but anyway this is a meal that could feel 3 small families for relatively cheap. and the pupusas were so fluffy and savory i was eating in complete silence with my friend. if i am ever near buttonwillow again i am definitely coming straight to this truck . 100p

All I ordered was 4 tacos and I waited 30 minutes!!!! Never again... please don't come here. There was no line gene I arrived and I still waited that long. Carne asada was dry.. pastor was coo, not great

Stopped across the street for a quick gas stop and noticed tita's truck while pumping gas. Checked Yelp and needed to try the rave reviews. Went simple and got one bean and cheese pupusa and a Salvadoran horchata. My family is from El Salvador so I'm particular when it comes to pupusas. Size, price, curtido, salsa, all play a factor in my overall judgement. Happy to report, It was all delicious!! Perfect size for the price and the flavor was beyond my expectations. It was fresh to order and the horchata hit the spot. Curtido was great and salsa was good too. We might make a stop when he head back home. Definitely recommend! Not feeling pupusas, well they have a large menu of other items including Mexican :)

Tita's is an overlooked Pupusa truck right off interstate 5 heading north in Buttonwillow. To be honest it was my first time at the Truck I hadn't been since there restaurant closed down a few years back. I gotta tell you though the quality has stayed the same and the Pupusa's are just as big and delicious as I remember. The prices are still reasonable considering the location and it being right off the 5. Unless you're starving or just have a big appetite I would say don't order more than 2 Pupusa's. My favorite are the Revuletas and the Loroco. The salsa is more of a tomato based and not hot at all in my opinion and the cortido served on the side is really delicious. This review is solely based on the Pupusa's, of course they have other stuff on the menu but I stop for my Pupusa fix. To be honest I haven't tried anything else.

This place is FIRE!I grew up with Central Americans so I am very familiar with the flavor profiles authentic pupusas should have. THIS IS IT!!! Believe it or not, this truck has better pupusas than most spots in LA area. The masa is fresh, not too dense and perfectly salted. They're pretty big in size, I typically eat 2-3 with the pickled cabbage and salsas. They take a bit to make so order ahead if you're in a rush. Trust me so worth the wait. Plus, all pupusas have a wait time due to being handmade to order. All of the pupusas have a healthy amount of cheese and coke out super hot, perfect for those belly's after a cold night of driving along the 5 fwy. They also have Salvadoran horchata which is SO GOOD!! not heavy at all. Made me feel like I was at my aunties house getting served by family. I love that they also offer Mexican favorites like tacos and burritos. Personally this truck has some of my favorite Latino dishes to offer. Very excited to find this on our way back from the bay. This is my new designated rest stop pick!Love!!!
