The Westchester

What a great hidden venue. This place is so nice inside. It's a lot larger that what it looks like from the outside. On this particular evening I was invited as a guest to a legal function. It clearly has enough room for a couple hundred people. This particular event had about 150 people and there was plenty of room. 17 tables with 8 at each table and a buffet and there was still plenty of room. The bathrooms are clean. There is a kitchen to prep food. There are 10 pretty chandeliers hanging from the ceiling so when you dim the lights, it can become an intimate affair for a reception or birthday party.Just an added note: I found out the venue accommodates 400 guests! And as an added bonus, if you rent the venue, there is a lovely lounge in the basement!

Volunteer Center hosts a Bingo night here every Thursday starting at 5:30PM. Doors open at 2PM. Buy-ins are around $20 for paper; with comp packs for $20. Payouts are around $30 for Warm Up and $250 for Early Bird Games and Regular Games. There were 25 games played total the night I was here playing. They have handheld machines. Get there early for the better machines. It seemed there were only "good machines" enough for half the 150 crowd. The other machines worked but were not as pretty. They have Bonanza and a hot ball. The main attraction were the high paying Pull-tabs. These players were crazy buying pull tabs. They have a snack bar and will delivery the food ordered to your table. I had the Fritos chili boat; not at all good for you, but was tasty. The cheese was nacho cheese. It was served with a whole, pickled jalapeño. You can bring your own food and drinks. They charge $0.30 for a cup of ice. Great fun!

Ok, where to begin. I decided to throw myself a birthday party and had a hard time looking for the right venue. I came across The WestChester and had a meeting with Becca immediately. She sold me and I signed the contract that same day. I was nervous about space because of the "expected" amount of people to attend and she assured me I would be ok. Becca kept me completely calm the entire time we worked together. She answered every question and every text. We had several meetings during the planning of my party and we were always on the same page with things. The day of my party I was wreck filled with anxiety and she and and a few others stepped in to help and keep me calm. She went above and beyond to make sure my night was perfect. The party itself was a success and now 4 days later I'm still recuperating. Lol. I will DEFINITELY use this location again and Becca is the only one who can help me. Lol. SHE NEEDS A RAISE!!!! It's not to often you find some who want to genuinely help instead of just receiving a check and I can honestly say Becca helped my dream come true last Sunday (December 11th). Thank you soooo much Becca and we will work together agin soon. For everyone who is looking a venue with great service I 3000% recommend The Westchester and the amazing Becca!

don't do it!! all they want is money and don't care about their clients. they double booked the hall last minute and am still waiting for my security deposit and more money they owe me and my event was last year, almost six months ago!! bob bell has ignored my calls and text messages asking for my deposit back and there is no reason to not refund it, he kept saying he will but as of today 02/24/2024, no refund and no communication. taking him to court. bunch of liars!! don't trust him!!

When searching for wedding venues I luckily came across The Westchester. The ballroom pictures instantly captured my attention and we made an appointment to tour the place. Upon arrival, I was surprised when I realized I had driven past The Westchester on numerous occasions. From the outside the venue looks like an ordinary building; we never would've imagined how beautiful it is inside.We were blown away by the simplicity and elegance The Westchester offered. As you walk in, you immediately notice the hardwood floor and breathtaking chandeliers. There were approximately 250 guests at our wedding and there was ample space for our guests, dance floor, gift table, cake table, head table, dj set up, and photo booth. The venue also offers an on-site kitchen, which was a plus for us because we were set on bringing outside catering, though the venue also offers packages that include dinner options. The venue has ample parking for your guests and vendors, which alleviates the pain of having to find a parking space in downtown Bakersfield.My husband and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with The Westchester's wedding coordinator, Rebecca Montoya. Ms. Becca was professional and provided quality customer service. Ms. Becca thoroughly reviewed the contract a detail, which we greatly appreciated because there were no surprises in the end. I'm the type to think of a dozen questions at random times and Ms. Becca never failed to promptly answer my questions. I seriously cannot emphasize how much Ms. Becca went above and beyond in availing herself and accommodating us throughout our planning process.Sincere thanks & gratitude, Hugo & Melina Morfin

The staff was nice, but VERY unorganized. The turn over in staff was ridiculous! We had three different people work on our paper work/event until the final girl, making the fourth one, started working with us a couple months before the event date. The paper work was all wrong. It had the wrong name of the event, it also showed we had paid the entire balance, when we hadn't even paid the deposit. We were over charged for security and asked for a refund, which was given in the form of a check, made out to the name of the school, not the individuals paying for the event. We paid hourly for two extra hours and wound up only staying for one extra hour...no refund will be given for that overpayment...they are pocketing that $250.I would never have another event there. My advice to anyone using this venue is to go over the contract with a fine tooth comb!!!

Place is nice, but only because of the chandeliers. The lady who helped me didn't explain really anything other then its $5750. Didn't have those good "sales" skills. This place literally provides NOTHING other than chairs and tables (which are not the ones shown in the picture, the ones in the picture are rented from walker-Lewis for $5.75 a seat). I like that it had parking space when I pulled up, but if you think about it its a shopping center so that parking space is for the other stores next door too. I wasn't even shown around much, just the main ballroom. For the price, and what it comes with.. NOT worth it. Sorry guys!
