The Same Place Cafe

Service this morning was welcoming and fast. Great community menu names. I ordered the Smokey and it didn't disappoint. This is a place with real people, and no 'aesthetic themes' bs. It's about the food, and the vibe was people getting a filling breakfast and getting going to work or back to the road.

Stopped by this place and had a breakfast burrito. Maybe the BEST in the Taft area! Was stuffed full of everything you want for breakfast! Thing was probably as long as my forearm! Please try it, was really good! Service was amazing and very attentive. Everyone there had a big smile and continually trying to please. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, was just because of the building. Every place in Taft doesn't seem to really care about the presentation of their establishments. Sure it looked clean, but falling apart! Keeping up the property definitely isn't a priority! Inside looked old and outdated, even a little dingy...

Very generic. Sub-par. Not a waste of money persay but not a voluntary place id go with other options available.

The best part of this restaurant is the owner/wait staff. The place itself looks tired, but our waitress was very energetic. The bacon is crispy and the food is served hot. The gravy with the biscuits and gravy could use some flavor. I, however, enjoy more of a sausage gravy. If I'm ever back this way, I might give it another try and change up my order. It did seem popular with the locals, with some of the entrees named after their customers. Cute idea.

Wow best burger I've ever had! Home made buns, fresh ground beef!! Check it out! Huge breakfast menu too. Definitely family owned and cared for. Yum must try. Closes at 2!

The service is good and Friendly!! Food is hot and good!! Cook deserves recommendations!! They try to get your food to you at a reasonable time so you can stave off Starvation.. lol love the place and the people!!Pjw..

This menu was created by Linda Allen. When she passed, she left it to her most loyal workers, Rudolfo and Elizabeth. She taught them everything she knew. I've never eaten better food. The dining area needs some work, but you won't find better people to feed you, your family and friends. It looks rough, but there's no bugs except the occasional fly that is drawn in by Rudolfo's cooking. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Normally, I would recommend this place, but today service was a little slow, and shortly after we arrived, another couple showed up and propped open the front door, letting the cold air in and staff didn't have a problem with it , as other folks complained of the cool breeze. You would have thought they would have asked the other patronage if that was ok.

Yeah, this is the spot. One server. Two cooks. Big breakfast. I'm so glad we came here. It's great to find a diner like this as we're traveling. The price is right too. Hometown diner with heart. Glad we came.
