This restaurant is located at "The Oasis," but it's the definition of a tourist trap. Lovely location, but the food is sub-par and overpriced, and our waitress really had an attitude! (If you don't want to bring your customers' food outside to them, change your policy and have us pick it up inside. Or just don't TELL us how much we are inconveniencing them!)I wasn't hungry, so I can't personally comment on the food, but my friends were definitely not impressed with their pulled pork sandwich and wings (although our neighboring diner's pizza looked pretty good, in hindsight). The saving grace is the bar, which has a couple of good beers on draft (try the Badwater Blonde). It was nice to sip a few brews outside beneath the date trees, and unlike our surly food waitress, our bartender had no problem with us taking our items outside.Seems to me the owners of this "diner" (which is more like a grab-and-go cafeteria) think their customers are a captive audience who will buy whatever they offer, so they're not making much of an effort. But for those of you with vehicles (and I assume that's most of you visiting Death Valley), save your money and head up the road for great food and service at the Badwater Saloon. You won't be disappointed.

Best rule of thumb is to go for the pizza Dante's or Death Valley dishes. No real competition in the immediate area (unless you want golf pro shop sandwiches) so you'd have to deal with the cards that are in play. They do let you order for take out when you do a walk in order, but plan accordingly, it can take some time to bake the pizzas, say 20 minutes.

It was absolutely horrible. Good for normal level dinning but not the price. If your are going to charge these prices have some exquisite entrees

Not a fan. Expensive burger came with a small sliver of onion and the bottom (heal) of the tomato.

14" pizza $19, very good! Pork sandwich $14 big and delicious. The price is very reasonable in this kind of resort. Go there for dinner every night.

Overpriced convenience food. This place is the only "restaurant" for miles. I use the term restaurant loosely. More like a cafeteria serving reheated food at the double the cost.

Food was horrible. We were so hungry and couldn't even finished the food. My wife had the chicken sandwich and the chicken was drier than Death Valley. Mac and cheese is worst than my daughter's school lunch.

The food was edible. We were hungry and ate the food. The best item that we ordered was the pizza. The Mac n Cheese subpar. It's about what I would expect for a diner within a national park. If I were in a city, I would have rated it a 2, but give it an extra star for serving hot food in the center of a national park.

BASIC BUT VERY GOODThis cafeteria-style cafe at the Furnace Creek Ranch in the middle of Death Valley is very basic, but the food is very good and the prices are reasonable, especially compared with the upscale restaurant up the road. Sandwiches, pizza, salads all were quite good. And you can get draft beer at a beer in one corner of the dining area.
