I took a friend of mine to see Sweeney Todd on 11 / 2 . The music backing up the vocals was way too loud and made it well nigh impossible to hear and understand much of the dialog. I wouldn't give that performance one star. I just wasted $70.00 on a lot of unintelligible noise. Major disappointment.

A truly great little diamond in the rough here at this little Art Deco Theatre!I just happened upon it a couple of months ago and have already enjoyed two productions thus far: "Once" and their current production of "Into The Woods"!Give this little gem a look see and bring some fine performing arts into your future!!Who doesn't need that especially in these wacko times?!Bravo Ovation Theatre, keep it coming!!

Recently saw their show on Buddy Holly - excellent cast! Stage setting was terrific and innovative.Best show seen on Bakersfield in 10 years! The actor who played Buddy was simply amazing - so much better than the movie. Both Big Bopper and Richie Valens actors also tops! Great job Ovation

This is a wonderful, cozy theater. It's full of charm and period elegance. I've attended a musical concert and a musical play there. The acoustics are amazing! The staff is great. Don't miss an opportunity to attend an event in this lively, Downtown venue!

Saw a truly wonderful production of, a chorus line, last week with a friend. Great, great, great production. The acting corps were truly wonderful. The singing was beautiful the emotions were raw and heartfelt. It makes me feel bad that I have not attended more theater in Bakersfield. What a lovely evening I hope everyone involved in the production knows what is stupendous job they have done. I look forward to the next play

Just saw Disaster! The acting and singing was great, and so much fun using my generations' 70s music! It's a spoof, that will have you laughing out loud. Don't miss it! Comfortable seats and a cool theatre on a hot Bakersfield evening. You can get a refreshing drink or coffee at the Stage Left Bar.

We went to see The Grapes Of Wrath yesterday. It was so well done. The cast did a superlative job. We like the Ovation better than Stars because of the comfortable seating. There are no bad seats in the theater and you are treated so well by the staff. I highly recommend them.

Talent talent talent!!! There are a few theater options in Bakersfield - and I like them all. But I LOVE the Ovation. How many times do you get to meet the owners of the establishment just chatting with patrons? I have been to several shows here and every time I have been - one of the owners are there, hanging with the crowd. Everyone is made to feel special at Ovation. If you like theater - don't miss this experience. The small venue allows for a great view from any seat. I have sat in the front row as well as the last row and have no complaints. The directors really take their shows to the next level. You would NEVER leave thinking you were at a community theater. Thank you for giving Bakersfield the same experience as watching a show on Broadway.
