The Old River Monte Carlo

I cannot say enough GREAT things about Old River Monte Carlo! They have GREAT food! I consider the pizza to be THEE BEST I've ever experienced but everything on the menu is great - trust me, my whole family agrees! The atmosphere is SO welcoming. So many T.V's for all the games! You can have the whole family dine in as they have a section for dining. I recommend this place for all!

I had an afternoon to myself and a photo assignment to take pictures of architecture. There are a lot of interesting buildings in Kern County and I remembered the Old river Monte Carlo. It's a bit of a drive on Taft Hwy, but it really paid off. I got there just as they opened. Prince, the owner's son, invited me in and took my order. His father was on the grill that afternoon. I got the cheeseburger with fries and a lemonade.I took some photos while I waited for the food. It's a real honky tonk of a building. There is wood everywhere along with old farm equipment, signs, and one-dollar bills that folks have signed and attached to the wall. There is a full bar, beer on tap. They host line dancing on Wednesday night and karaoke on Thursday nights. There are two pool tables to enjoy.The food arrived, and it was delicious. They use Harris Ranch Angus beef in their burgers. The toppings were fresh. The portions were generous. All this is for under $10. While I ate, I learned that the construction of the Monte Carlo took place in the 1890s. Think about it - 134 years. Did they even have nails back then? ;)I recommend you take the short drive to the Old River Monte Carlo and enjoy the history of the place. They should give tours of the upstairs.

Still hands down the best pizza in town. The owners are still the sweetest in the world. Karaoke is booming. Lots of smiles. Only thing to add is you gotta try a burger too!

Tasty Appetizers, Amazing Pizza, and a great retro rustic ambiance. Had the pleasure of speaking with some of the family who own and operate and they were kind and very welcoming. Large comfortable seating areas for having fun with your friend groups of any size.

Have gone there several times for pizza, but last night was excellent! Service was spot on, bartender was great and took our order and got our pizza going. It was quite there last night, but there have been times of some good pool games going on and once in a while they have karaoke. They have plenty of seating for large groups

This is one of the best bars and restaurants in Bakersfield. Old school building with modern conveniences, and the food and service is awesome. Great staff like my friends the owners Prince Joshon and his father. All around I 100% recommend this bar and the restaurant to anyone who wants to have a great night on the town.

I have driven by this business my whole life! This was my very first time in my mid 30's! I came Halloween weekend for my brothers bday and people were dressed up and there was a live rock band playing. This place gets busy! I can see why. The service is so sweet and OMG the pizza is so freaking good!!!! I love places like this! I do not live close by anymore, but I'll come again when I can! Come try this pizza! I promise it will not disappoint!

Definitely a hole in the wall type of place. I've only started coming as of recently but my in-laws have been going there for years. They were not joking when they said the pizza was amazing. I did not expect to have such a delicious pizza and food so far out. Friday nights are definitely a vibe. We like to go and watch karaoke and have a few buckets of beer on their happy hour special and just have a good time. Prince, he is a joy. He is always so nice and welcoming. I am not sure if he's the owner or not but he definitely helps a lot with the vibe and making it feel like you're around family. I definitely recommend this place to everybody I know and have been introducing it to a lot of my close friends and family since.

I had been waiting try this place out after all the good reviews I read about the pizza me and my husband walked in on a Thursday night around 7 there was about 12 people in there and we walked by the pool table to sit down and when passing the pool table one of ladies had said oh they can wait. I didn't want to assume that she was talking about us but after waiting like 10 minutes we got up to leave I noticed it was the bartender/waitress that had been the one who made the comment. Seemed like they didn't care if we were her or not, been wanting to try this place but not going to waste time or money regardless of how good the pizza is, id rather have sorry pizza and great service then have great pizza with no service at all. To each his own.

Walked in walked out within 10 minutes. People didn't seem to want to wait in us they even voiced it. Even felt a bit racist and I never play that card. Would definitely not recommend this joint. Sucks cuz we wanted to try this place for a while.
