They'll feed you if you're hungry no questions asked. You just gotta wait your turn. FYI Women and people with disabilities or children eat first. So get your ticket and get in line early. I'd say if dinner is the most packed time so get in line early, ideally around 3:30-4:00pm because sometimes they'll run out of the chicken and you'll get the chicken Patties instead of the actual deep fried chicken. There's a lot of homeless people here that will bicker and smoke cigarettes in line while you're waiting. Some of them will smell because they haven't showered but everyone usually calms down when they're in the cafeteria. They need volunteers. If they are short staffed then it takes longer to get fed.

The Mission of Kern County is about helping those in need whether it is for meals, shelter, ministry, rehabilitation and renewal.I know that working in ministry is not an easy task and requires a great deal of love, patience, due diligence, steadfastness and commitment. The Mission does what it can for most people. It is about putting people on the right path to a healthy and faithful walk with God through the Love of Christ Jesus. Most non-profits start from very humble means of support and services. The Mission continues to build upon what it already brings to the community whenever it can through donations, sponsorship, and possibly other government assistance. It seems easy to manage such a large service to a community, but as any business, it is required to operate under current state laws, county and city laws, and ordinances thus creating some limitations. To those that may feel that The Mission doesn't do enough, Please note that as much as they strive for perfection, non-profits are only able to do what is given to them to work with based on need and support. It is a small community of men and women who are there to have a need met, and although most non-profits are not able to fulfill every need, The Mission can rejoice in the gifts that God has provided through them. It is their mission to help as many as they can, and some men and women in the rehabilitation program have been welcomed back several times, because the The Mission believes that Grace is without boundaries or limitations leading people to Christ. People from all walks of life have found healing and renewal at The Mission and are present their today. Right thinking is everything is one's ability to overcome and walk their journey! My brother was to stay here tonight but when he arrived from Texas they told him he could stay, but would not be able to charge his electric wheelchair there!!! He can't walk and is homeless. Where do they expect him to charge it?!! This is ridiculous!

I am not a religious person but I support this organization on an ongoing basis. Please consider them when making your contributions to charity.

I have a family member at The Mission and I could not be more pleased. This has been an amazing blessing and I thank God every day for providing this organization. The Mission was NOT our first choice, but after a week at another facility, we made the move to The Mission and I am so grateful God opened that door. The member of my family who is there has embraced the program and what a difference in his life! All glory to Jesus who made this possible. Without His mercies, The Mission would not be what it is, today. So, is The Mission perfect? Not in the least. Does it have its faults? Yes. It is an organization run by humans who make mistakes, but over-all, it is a great blessing to this community.PS...I am a local, life-time resident of Bakersfield, I have no idea why my review indicates I am from out of state.

Entry gate greeter, very courteous, many thank you's. Directed us to drop off area, instantly greeted by another courteous helper who immediately unloaded 4 very large heavy bags of quite good clothing that will be liked and used by the needy. Lots of thank you's.Very nice, rewarding experience. Exceeded my expectations. We will be back with more to give.

They are not support Marine. I have a story for this place. I Am a military vet 8 years 2 combat deployments 100 percent disabled. But i was homeless after the marines due fact "marines never claim disability sadly." there are many other issue no public know about and why 22 percent are homeless........This place get money from gov from how many they get and go through. So i been interviewing trying to show they are a scam.... the people i did interview where later found out to be kicked out of the place and now on the streets as vets that fight for our country. because of some secrets i will expose them for. I will have a post up for my channel so you can watch what happen. They seem to be run by a gang. because when i was approached by 3 guys with red bandana claiming crips. but they where white and 22. I was a vet marine and not scared. they had a knife and threated me to leave and give the camera. I had somthing they where scared of i wont say. but they backed off and i called the cops.....I been homeless after the marines before my 100 percent disable due fact "marines never claim anything because if we did we where told we are weak!" that my gen 2017. I wonder what they said 20 years before me...... there so much that not told. and we need to help them. I hope this gets out.because now a marine vet is kicked out for no reason on the streets cold..... and a MARINE VET!!! in his 60s great kind humble, also...... check out the video and you see why they kick them out. Neverforgetmarine is the channel. even in the video some guy drives up in a nice truck. and i knew he was military and he even said the same things screaming "these guys are crooks, they should be locked up" and i was just the first person stand up and more did when i started. they just get them up and fed and kicked out. and then cycled again for more profit.this company was renamed and founded in 2016 re branded by executives. I know this as i do stocks all the time and know how to find stuff out like this and I have pull. these people are just money making machines.
