After hiking early we stopped by for breakfast/brunch, but they don't serve breakfast, so we went with the lunch options and their menu was full of plenty of different options. I went w the Santa Fe, and while it was good, the flavors were fairly plain, even w the chilis on top. Usually a 'patty melt' style is fairly greasy/buttery, but this was more toasted than grilled, so that cut out any greasy mess on your fingers (but could've provided a bit more flavor). My friend loved his salmon burger with egg and said he'd easily order it again. The staff was pleasant, the place was clean and the food was clearly made out of quality ingredient and professionally served. We were there right at opening, and despite a low music, there's not much ambience to the place, but once the crowds show up, it gets a little more audibly loud which was better than the empty room.

the bad... and the good... fish and chips severely disappointing - all batter no fish... and not house made - like bulk store frozen stuff... fries a disappointment too - limp... scampi Italienne very good - large portion - doesn't come with bread (none of the pasta dishes do anymore - too much went to waste per owner/manager bobby (apologize if i got name wrong) ) but will make it (toasted, garlic) on request - very fresh salad (not iceburg lettuce) with halved cherry tomatoes, cucs, croutons - balsamic vinegar dressing... bobby super cool, friendly guy - as was staff - been there twice now on our bi-annual trip to LA and we'll be back next trip - if open (see below) ...NOTE: on our last trip thru last month (december) restaurant was closed with no explanation but website shows open now...an aside - don't understand why they don't open til 9 for breakfast with all the hikers in town who like to get an early start...

As always, we had an amazing experience at The Grill restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top-notch. Our waitress, Geri, was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was perfect, and will definitely visit again when in Lone Pine.

The last time I was there, I ordered a ham and cheese on them and the ham tasted rancid, like it was really old. I had to server, take it away, but said I will eat the hash browns because i'm hungry. The server came back and said, we're only going to charge you for an order of hash browns. I live in that town and I will never eat at that restaurant again

Arrived in Lone Pine late on a Friday night, prepping for a weekend hike up Mount Whitney, and stumbled upon The Grill, conveniently located near our motel. The place was open late, which was perfect. The staff welcomed us warmly, creating a friendly atmosphere right from the start.I tried the Dust Devil pasta, a dish praised in several Yelp reviews, and it did not disappoint. The spicy chipotle sauce blended perfectly with the linguini and mushrooms, delivering a flavor-rich experience with just the right level of spice. It also came with a fresh garden salad on the side, adding to the meal's freshness. The portions were so generous that I ended up taking the leftovers for lunch the next day.Overall, The Grill offers not just great food but also excellent service with a smile. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lone Pine!

Wow! What a surprise! We have been coming to Lone Pine for many, many years but this is our first visit to the Grill. The food is excellent, the dining room decor is upscale but comfortable, the service is welcoming and excellent. The servings are very generous and an excellent value for the price. I had the carrot soup and the grilled salmon with a cream herb sauce with mashed potato and grilled mixed seasonal veggies. My hubby had a huge Black Angus New York steak that was perfectly cooked medium rare as requested. We would have loved to try the dessert but could not have eaten another bite!

We dined at The Grill in Lone Pine for both breakfast and dinner during our stay at the nearby Historic Dow Villa Motel. The restaurant has a welcoming, family-style atmosphere with friendly service. Its convenient location is a plus. For breakfast, we had huevos rancheros and omelettes, which were decent--nothing standout, but satisfying enough to start the day. Dinner, however, was less impressive. The ribeye steak, ordered medium rare, arrived overcooked and drenched in an overly salty sauce. The pork chops with rosemary butter were better but still fell short of expectations. If you're planning to dine here, sticking to sandwiches and burgers might be the safer bet. While the food is hit or miss, the convenience and friendly staff make it a reasonable choice when staying in Lone Pine.Would you like me to adjust the tone or add any details?
