The Bank Sports Lounge

This bar might have the record for most shots poured in a night within Kern County. The food is great and the bartenders are fun! Plenty of pool tables, darts and dance floor.

Walked into LOUD music playing and several TVs playing different games. It was hard to tell who worked there as no one paid particular attention to us as we looked around for a table or some instruction on what to do. A woman finally came over and took our drink order, we had to yell at each other over the loud music. The beer selection is so-so. No local beer. I think she completely forgot we ordered drinks and came over 15 minutes later to get our food order! We were like HELLO!? Where are the drinks!? Geez. Food was decent but they aren't trying very hard. I actually had very low expectations, after all, this was Taft, and I was still disappointed. Don't wait the time or calories.

Thank you Yelp! My coworker and I had come up to Bakersfield, Shafter before we made it back to Taft for our last call. Before we headed to our last call my coworker, who was driving, asks me to look up something on Yelp! [he knows me well] and I found a couple of good spots but The Bank looked interesting and had some good Yelp! Reviews. We stopped in and it is a very nice place; clean, friendly looking and so we stepped up to the bar. The place was pretty close to empty because it was around 2PM on a Wednesday. The menu had some good options and I chose the fish and chips. The fish was tasty, fresh and the waffle fries was a nice adder. Big plate for under $10. My buddy had the beef dip with Kaitlin [our super friendly waitress] mentioned that The Bank made their own au juice. Kaitlin was great to talk to while we had our lunch and really increased the enjoyment of our lunch. There is a pool table, nice size bar and everyone was friendly. I hope to come back some day!!

Best thing in the menu is definitely the fries. Crispy, hot, shoestring-style, and delicious. Otherwise...stake buns, under-seasoned and freezer-burned burgers, no wine (cheap would have been fine), sticky menus, locals just non-stop stare at you as soon as you walk in...and, not posted lightly, I was up all night with GI issues. What a terrible place, much better choices in town.

If you have not been to the Bank in Taft ca you are missing out. The food is out of this world and Kelsey rocks as your waitress. First she remembers who you are and comes to check on you. If she is not waiting on you she is cleaning something. Thank you for the great experience.

4 star because the soda carbonation was empty and so was the syrup. Got an amazing burger and fries with a soda that was equivalent of a swig of pop thats been sitting on the counter with the top off for a couple days. But again, the burger and fries were awesome. The meat in the burger was not run o the mil. Place is cool too. Waitress was exceptionally nice and personable.

Went here for a brunch/lunch date with a friend today. Good music, GREAT food and service. I highly recommend the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. So good! I swapped out the bell peppers for mushrooms, and our waitress offered au jus if I wanted. The Bloody Mary was perfect as always. Waitress was very attentive, but not intrusive. It's so nice having a clean and open space to have a good drink and meal in our little town! Thank you Veach's! You guys are rocking it!

Get place to eat 10 out of ten if you don't believe me go to the bank . It a get place to hang out they have pool and etc.

Amazing staff and atmosphere. The food is always hot and fresh . I come here a few times a week to unwind I love the crowd that goes in there no more of the young crowd dancing on tables drunk . Thank god .
