The 18hundred is an easy choice for lunch in downtown. Service today was topnotch and the food did not disappoint. Deviated from my usual salad option and instead had the sammy/soup combo. I opted for the turkey club and tomato soup.Food came to our tables pretty quickly. Was pleasantly surprised that the sandwich was a full sandwich. It was perfectly toasted, packed with turkey, avo, and bacon. I only could get through half and saved the other half for dinner. The tomato soup was thick yet smooth, and quite balanced. It ate more like a tomato bisque than anything. Yum.I've never had a bad meal here to date. Might come back soon.

Not sure what to say, so this will be short. Honestly, it's not that great. The service was average. The wait staff was nice but not very attentive to customers. If they weren't at their podium, they took a little longer than average to get to the customers. They weren't super busy so there was a lot of standing. Seen a few customers actually leave before being seated. We waited about 15 minutes for a seat, then it took another 20 minutes to get a waitress to get out in. We ordered simple breakfast (waffles, bacon, eggs and the pastrami sandwich). All of the food came out cold. The waffles were like "ice" because the butter wouldn't even melt. Is asked for my eggs to be scrambled medium. They were cook very hard (I hate hard cooked eggs) and the pastrami was super greasy. Sent most of the food back. I ordered fries which was the best thing we had, they were hot but over salted. It just wasn't a good food spot. The decor was cool. Dedicated to the old time Bakersfield Motor bike club, had a great black and white picture. My wife said the restroom was disgustingly dirty and so was the men's restroom. For as many staff that stood around, there just was no reason for that. Parking is street parking in which you may walk up to 2 blocks. I'm usually fair when it comes to spots that are just ok, but this one missed the mark. They have what looks to be a full bar and a few televisions which was the best part of the entire experience. If you're thinking about this going to the 18Hundred, I'll just wish you luck.

I first dined at 18hundred when it opened in town and loved it! I was new, hip, great decor and a great location downtown. After a few years I came back this past weekend. The decor is still wonderful and the staff super friendly and kind. Recap on the food:The burger was good, a little heavy but tasty. Not gonna lie I didn't feel well after but not sure if it was the burger. The fried zucchini were underwhelming, I wish they had a little more flavor and fried a little longer to have more a of a crisp. The fried cauliflower was good, great flavor and we asked for those extra fried so they were perfect. My friend had a salad, she said it was delicious and it was a great portion size.

Our other Bakersfield favorite restaurant within walking distance of the historic Padre hotel is closed on Mondays, so we were glad to find this place that is open daily and serves breakfast until 2 (3 on weekends). The bar is open all day, so we stopped by at 4 for a couple of their specialty cocktails, a pear spritz, and a momma mule, which were refreshingly different and on happy hour from 3 to 6. Later on, I enjoyed macncheese, while my husband loved his blta (with avocado and Dijon mustard).Their menus is extensive, from sandwiches, salads, kids menu, to house specialties like Mahi Mahi and rib eye steak. The interior is light, bright, and comfortable with high windows, located in a historic building. We had great service from Joseph all evening as the place filled with the dinner crowd. A very reasonably priced meal, which is a nice change for a cocktail bar and grill.

1800 is the place to go I mean the ambiance there is all good we went there doing the middle of the week we've been there a few times and the service gets better and better in the food gets better and better every time we go the food is hot waitress is always on point she's always filling the glasses up which is cool it's just a nice place to go it's kick back so if you like ice cream you like sandwiches you like hamburgers hey this is about to go to definitely going back My grandkids love it

Great place to meet people. They will work with medium sized groups. The food is good. Some of the items are for Instagram-milkshakes are great for a pic. Some of the food is basic. There is a lot more for me to try so I can report back. Small amount of seating outside but I wouldn't recommend it. A con is the parking can be horrid.

We finally got around to the 18Hundred restaurant in downtown Bakersfield. It was a Saturday afternoon and we got in just before the lunch rush. As soon as we arrived, the hostess seated us and the server promptly brought our drinks.We split the BLTA Sandwich with fries. The sandwich was tasty and filling. The ingredients were fresh and in ample supply. They have a full bar, which I did not take advantage of, but it's good to know it's there.The place was filling up, but the noise level was not bad. There is outside seating. That might be fun at cooler times of the year or in the evenings. The building is very old, a bank, I think, so it has a really cool vibe. And, it's downtown, and that adds to the ambience.
