What a wonderful staff.I came in with a pair of damaged glasses. They fixed them within five minutes. And they wouldn't take a payment. Such sweet girls. Looks like I found a new eye doctor in town.

Today, I drove the 80 miles for my annual eye exam. Dr. Young is great, staff is kind and professional when you're in eye-shot... however, they need to be mindful that customers are always within earshot. I'm perusing frames and 2 women in an anti-office, door wide open, are taking quite loudly about Colorado removing Trump from the ballot, now we all know I am personally in favor of this movement, but I allow others their opinions of course, so I'm not saying a thing... just trying on frames. Well, they keep going on and on and don't really sound like they really know much of what they're talking about (just being parrots like so many of their kind). Then twice they say the world is going to hell in a hand basket (bless their hearts) and just how *wrong* this all is. Yeah, I've heard enough, so without moving, I pipe up and say, "No, what's wrong was him inciting an insurrection," then I move away with my selection. They were silenced, which is proper anyway, you don't or shouldn't have those kinds of conversations at work when clients are present. And no, I didn't spend the $500 on one pair of glasses from them (yes, with insurance). I paid the $10 office visit, took the Rx's, and ordered 2 pairs of the computer Rx from Zenni. My other Rx hadn't changed since last year, so I think I'll just hang onto that $. But I checked, and I could get those progressives for under $100 thru Zenni if I choose.

We have always loved this place. The doctor is excellent and the staff has always been helpful, patient, and kind. However, we visited their office about a month ago for our annual check up to find that they have hired on a new receptionist and we were met with hostility, at best. She was uninviting, unkind, rude, demanding, and unhelpful (on 2 occasions). We were given dirty looks and attitude and were ignored, at times. As if that was not offensive enough, she was extremely kind and helpful to the male patient behind us. We have never met this woman before and we are not sure why she was so awful to us. We are seriously considering taking our business elsewhere.

Best eye doctor, best office staff. Courteous and professional. Especially JessicaI would recommend them to anyone looking for glasses...

After waiting a month to get an appointment for my husband and I, I received a call 2 days before my appointment advising me that because my insurance misspelled my last name by one letter I couldn't come in unless I got it corrected before the appointment. My husband's insurance card was spelled correctly and we have the same insurance but because mine was misspelled there was an issue. The staff member who called was so rude that I cancelled both my husband's and my appointment. They lost 2 new patients.

I've only ever seen this doctor once and on my first and only visit he was impatient and slightly rude. The new contacts he prescribed me were terrible and hurt my eyes so bad that I had to stop wearing them. Called them to ask if the doctor could just write me a new prescription for my old brand of contacts or no brand at all without me going in for a new appointment (& another $50 copay) and of course they said no, because obviously they can't make money off of that. Severely disappointed since there isn't much of a choice of optometrists in Tehachapi.

Great service and friendly staff. Very helpful. Always work with you to solve any problems that occur. I like that there isn't a long wait time. The staff schedules appointments so there is very little waiting.

Don't get me wrong. Dr. Young is a great optometrist. Usually very quick. Very professional and friendly. However some of the ladies that work there can be pretty rude. Most of them have been working there for years. Sometimes I feel as if I'm wasting their time and I find myself leaving irritated. One woman in particular, middle aged and dirty blonde, is blatantly rude and goes out of her way to make me uncomfortable. So although I've been with this optometrist for the past 15 years, me and my family will not be back. I'm done.

We've been going to Dr. Young since he opened this office. We've moved out of state but come back to Tehachapi yearly for our exams and glasses. The staff is friendly and professional and we just couldn't replace our experience at Tehachapi Optometric anywhere else!
