Finally! A great place for tacos. I have been in Bakersfield for a year and I am so glad that this place popped up. This taco shop is run out of taco trucks and I go to the one on the corner of Comanche and Highway 178. They have two other locations available as well and have business cards with that information. The Carne Asada and Cabeza tacos are bomb! The Al Pastor is also very delicious and I've had all three in a taco, torta, or burrito,Their torta can be a little on the dry side so I recommend asking for extra mayonnaise. They do not put refried beans or any kind of bean on the torta, however you can request whole pinto beans, which is what they have.Their burrito is pretty good. It is fully loaded with rice, beans, meat, onions, cilantro, and whatever salsa you like. In addition if you would like extra meat they will do that for a fee. This place offers green and red salsas, and both are delicious. They also have a smoky salsa which is a little spicier. They serve a variety of soft drinks, including Mexican Coke, and aguas fresca. If you are a fan of the Cabeza tacos... I recommend you arrive early because they tend to sell out of that taco meat. Enjoy!

I'm not sure if I'm confusing this place with another since it is at a different location. There is a taco truck off 178 and Alfred Harrell Highway and the worker told me it was Taqueria El Campechin and that they are on IG and FB. This seems to be the place. Photos of the food look the same although it is a different truck. The place at 178 and Alfred Harrell is so delicious! Handmade yellow corn tortillas. The meat is grilled on charcoal. And the flavors are amazing!Yum! Good attention to detail! Everything is fantastic! Thank you!

Been looking for tacos that taste like ones in Rosario, Mexico. And have found some that are prepared just like over there! Guacamole, salsa, onions and celatntro. Corn tortillas are made fresh in from of you. I ordered 4 tacos and demolished them.So much flavor in the food.If ever on Niles, they are located in the Hillcrest shopping center.

This is just another in the long line of taquerias in Bakersfield that all should go to instead of settling for the slop at Tacos La Villa. It doesn't matter what part of town you are in, there is somewhere much better than La Villa closeby. And on the east side (or anywhere on DoorDash), that place is Taqueria El Campechano. I have only ordered on DoorDash as I do not make it up to the east side too often, but I place Taqueria El Campechano up there with Vatos Tacos, Sebastian's, and La Imperial (among others) as the best in town. While some people lament the idea of so many Mexican food places in Bakersfield, I love it because each offers something different. Vatos has that killer mom's salsa that I order in bulk as much as I can, Sebastian's has that high-quality carne asada, and La Imperial has the incredible handmade tortillas. With all of that, Taqueria El Campechano adds guacamole to its asada tacos, the meat is incredibly seasoned, and the vampiros are the best I've ever tasted. While Vatos Tacos has an avocado salsa that goes along with their regular red salsa, El Campechano's guacamole is thicker and add much richness to the tacos. And that asada -- wow. I put it in the top two or three in Bakersfield with the seasoning that explodes with flavor in your mouth. The vampiros are overflowing with meat and the tortillas are deliciously fried with the cheese melting throughout. Incredible! The red salsa at El Campechano is spicy, but not over the top. I would place it as a step down in spiciness from mom's salsa at Vatos Tacos or the red salsa at La Imperial, but it has all the flavor. And it is not bitter at all like at La Villa. There is a review that complained about how long the wait is, and while I haven't actually gone to the truck, I can say that the DoorDash deliveries have been surprisingly fast coming to the southwest from the east side. Maybe it is the time I order? Or maybe I've just been lucky? I don't know, but I haven't had the issue of having to wait at all. This place is legit and just one more place to add to the list instead of having to settle for La Villa. But be careful and watch the hours. They are only open from 6 p.m. to midnight every day.

Omg it's like having Tacos El Gordo in Bakersfield, Ca! We found this place on the DoorDash app and ordered tacos de tripa, tacos de asada, and tortas de asada. The tortillas they use for their tacos taste like authentic corn tortillas. I appreciate the guacamole they put on their asada tacos. They also included a side of grilled chiles and onions which were delicious. Only reason why I didn't give a 5 star was because the asada tortas were unfortunately a little on the salty side. Other than that, their tacos are AMAZING. They also offer birria food items which will be a next for us.
