Sweet Surrender Bakery

Guilty sweet pleasures!! I stopped in Sweet Surrender twice for Valentine's week. The first stop I bought some cupcakes, they were so good, a great selections, and awesome presentation wrapped. The 2nd stop in I picked up a strawberry shortcake and two chocolate covered strawberries for the 22 year anniversary. The cake was moist and the best. I would definitely recommend trying everything. They also have a cute boutique with great options.

Pretty location, and nice to sit and have a pastry. They have a cute little shop where you can get gifts, clothing and even pajamas. Only downside is the price of items in the shop. They are unique items but high on the price. Had a latte, some cookies and a lemon bar. All were tasty! Went in wanting custom sugar cookies but they do not make any. Discovered a cute little day date spot instead though!

This is not a review for the cupcakes, this a a review about going in and purchasing 6 cupcakes and 4 strawberries for $53 dollars and being told no bows since they are busy. Obviously people are buying the cupcakes for gifts or whatever and the presentation of the box is well known for the beautiful bows they put on them. That's fine if there is no time to make one and put it on for your customers, but please offer the ribbon to do so myself or have some pre made to hand out as other pre made boxes had all the bows on them. I would even buy the pre made bow if it was available, I mean why not? I'm already knowingly going in to spend a good amount of money, what's a few dollars more ‍Just a little disappointing.

I knew there was a bakery past the Dollar Tree and the Grocery Outlet but I haven't really been inside. A very colorful and welcoming patio greets you and when we stepped inside, you'd see all these little birthday-themed merch that made me and my daughter take some time strolling before we realized that we went there wanting to try their baked goods. It was hard to decide if I wanted a cupcake or a bar but I chose the bar since I wanted to enjoy my treat at home. I was thinking of Bakersfield heat and didn't want to risk having melted icing when I get home. So, went for their billionaire bar and boy it got me hooked! It was so rich and decadent with the right balance of sweetness, I could probably eat one everyday! To be honest, I think everything on display would be as equally delicious and we know there's only one way to find out, this bakery deserves a return trip!

Gluten free options are delicious. Staff is friendly. I wish they would make gluten free red velvet cake. Fingers crossed

EVERYTHING IS AMAZING. from the cookies to the cake to the unique item sold in the store. I come for the doggy treats and the lemon white chocolate cake is to die for.

I love this place I go here as much as I can for party's to order a cake I would recommend the pink champagne service people are very friendly.

Sweet surrender has such cute charms in their bakery, we love their pink champagne cake and cupcakes, I do wish they would bring back their coconut cupcake and the coconut and Italian buttercream cake, service is decent as well.

This is such a cute little gem to stumble upon if you get the chance to check it out. There's a gift shop within the bakery which is wonderful cause you can kill two birds with with one stone. A nice treat and a sweet momento for those you cherish. I recommend the cheesecake cupcakes. I've had the pleasure of trying the reeces peanut butter cheesecake. My sister loved the English toffee cupcake. The staff was helpful and gave excellent recommendations based on cravings and likes which I found helpful. They have a full menu from caffeinated beverages and alternate craving killers like cookies and even gluten free options. Outdoor seating is available if you'd like to enjoy your sweets on the spot.

My review is strictly about the Matterhorn cake. Once upon a time it was the most deliciously moist and flavorful cake in town. The last four times I have purchased this cake I have been disappointed. It has been dry and literally crumbly. The frosting too is no longer flavorful but just sweet. I love this charming bakery and am sure there are lots of other treats for me to enjoy.
