Let me tell you the greatest thing about Stoney Creek Lodge right up front. It is the staff. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, flexible and helpful. In fact, they bailed me out and saved my caboose! (More on that later)We are going out to the Sequoias to enjoy nature. We're not going going on vacation to stare at the inside of the room. This is more of a well decorated Motel than a Hotel so set your expectations at that level and you will be well impressed. They have gasoline and diesel at the fuel pump. The complimentary breakfast was great! The coffee was excellent. Freshly brewed and hot, hot, hot. This is not some Motel 6, throw a frozen waffle in the toaster breakfast. Chef Todd makes biscuits and gravy that were truly excellent. The sausage and eggs are perfectly cooked and there are too many other breakfast items to list. You are not going to starve. Here's how the staff saved my bacon: I broke down half-way up the mountain because my transmission exploded. Check your transmission fluid before you go up the mountain and do not drive in overdrive. Otherwise, you will end up a poor broken-down bastard, just like me. If things get hot, pull over! I was supposed to cater my Nephew's wedding up at the campsite so that added to the stress of breaking down at night, right in the middle of the highway. My family brought a couple of pickup trucks down the mountain and we were able to grab all the food and catering equipment. The wedding went off perfectly. However, I had nowhere to store my equipment. Chef Todd allowed me to store everything behind a locked roll up door so my equipment was safe. We picked everything up the next day with a U-Haul and were back on the road. These are truly nice people who care about you...Thanks guys.Marco

Clean 2 queens and 1 single bed. Coming in my expectation was low considering the past reviews and fact that it's deep in the mountain. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quietness. Hotel itself doesn't have lot of rooms so it is not very crowded. My 2 children liked the place and continental breakfast and pizza was great considering limited resource. It even has a gas station. It is not a great place for summer camp like montecino. But if you want comfortable place after exploring and hiking sequoia and kings canyon. This is best place money can buy.

We were a bit apprehensive when the day of our trip, my wife looked up reviews, but when we arrived and throughout our stay, we were much impressed for the good. Yes, it is not a Hilton, but our room was clean and quiet, the food was good and the staff were most friendly and professional. Wifi sucked and as a small business owner it was a bit difficult BUT....it was bad when we stopped into the other lodges that were even higher priced, so I think its a technical issue for the park and its "pipes". Our wifi service was a little better from the lounge area as our room was distal to the router. I strongly recommend this place.

Our stay here was lovely! It was in the perfect location, equal distance to General Sherman and General Grant. The room was nothing fancy, but you don't visit Sequioa Kings to stay in the room all day. There is no fridge in the room, but there is an ice bucket and the staff could always get us ice, we just brought our own cooler. They were also able to fill up all our water bottles with drinking water upon request. Sometimes we requested 4 water bottles at once, which was no issue. Some of them just grabbed them all and did it, some requested we remove the lids (unsure if this was to make it easier to fill up or because of covid) and one refused to do it claiming my water bottle wouldn't fit under the faucet, after several days of other staff members filling up the same water bottle without issue. The wifi is definitely spotty, but again, we didn't drive up there to spend all day on our phones so it wasn't a problem for us. It was a great place to sleep and shower. It was quiet and the stars were beautiful. Check in was really quick and easy, they had coffee all day and breakfast was provided. It was a decent breakfast too! And the pizza place was not bad. Most of the staff members were really great and helpful but there were a couple who clearly don't want to be there. I would definitely recommend this place, as it is in a great location!

You had me at free vegan toiletries. They have great cruelty free lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and soap in each room that have natural ingredients. Before seeing these, I had already fallen for Stony Creek Lodge because of its homey cabin feel. The rooms are mostly wood and have windows you can actually open with protective screens. They also have a common room with a fireplace. The workers were all nice and everything was clean. Their souvenir shop and marketplace are well stocked. However, I wish everything stayed open later than eight o' clock. They have one of the best breakfasts you'll find at a hotel. Besides coffee and hot chocolate, they have an entire selection of different teas. They then have several types of bagels, breads, oatmeal, and muffins. Add to this potato hash, eggs, and bacon. Also an entire yogurt and granola bar! It's rare that I get to enjoy fresh berries at a hotel. Their pizza place was decent as well. They were out of mozzarella (wth?) so we got half with just sauce and the other half with Parmesan. The Parmesan melted surprisingly well and the veggies we added were fresh. My night at the Stony Creek Lodge was when I saw the most stars I've ever seen in my life at once. It was beautiful and I wish I was there now.

Stayed 2 nights. Best reason to chose this lodge is the convenient location to attractions in park. Clean, but less than basic amenities. Just know what you are getting. No AC, but fan in room was great. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Limited electrical outlets. No water or coffee available in lobby!!! Restaurant only served pizza for dinner. Breakfast and mini-mart in building don't open until 8 am. Due to the heat and the crowds, we wanted to be on trails at 8 am, so we did not eat the free breakfast. For the price, I would pay an extra $20 per night to have coffee available in the lobby. They really can't spring for a Keurig??

DO NOT STAY HERE. wow, this is a 1-star hotel at the best. the room was horrible and completely overpriced. there were years worth of visible stains on literally everything! the carpet, the comforter, the CURTAINS. the room was so gross we got blankets out of our car to sleep with. the bed was horrible - dipped in the middle. the walls were so thin that it sounded like the next door neighbors were in the room with us. the door did not seal and light shined through around the entire frame the entire night. while the sheets were clearly laundered and the morning breakfast spread was good I would warn off anyone thinking of staying here.

Customer service! Had an issue with the tv/Direct tv. The assistant manager told me it was due maintenance. Turns out they didn't pay their bill. Services at the limited restaurant, was terrible. Food was great but the cashier was clueless to what was available. They said only pizza was available. The chef said the entire menu was available. WTF! Spent two days there and treated like shi). Inform employees as they are the ones interact with the customers. Bed was terrible as we has to sleep with our heads at the foot if the bed so our feet were not above our head. Overall, don't stay here, not worth it.

A phrase that states my review is "Bitter Disappointment". The pictures you find online look quaint, simplistic and homey. I fully expected a less than Four Seasons experience, but the reality was very disappointing. The building is literally crumbling, the stone fireplace is gone, replaced by plywood sheets, there were multiple caution taped areas all around the outside. The building was completely dilapidated, no property maintenance looks to have been done since 1980? It appeared to me that this place was a year or three away from being condemned. Missing from the "Lodge" requirements other than the building stated above are any amenities they claimed to have. There was no WiFi, no hot water, no television, no staff after 7, no AC, it's all powered by a generator. The rooms were appointed by the local thrift store in 1985. Avoid at all costs, it reminded me of a child's summer camp. Oh and the room rate was $250 a night for the pleasure. It's obvious that this is just a cash cow for the owners who do not intend to invest another dime in their business, only to take your money. It's one of the worst "bait and switch" I've seen before. Bitter Disappointment.

This place is a shithole. Rooms haven't been touched for at least 30 years. Staff is unhelpful and looks miserable. Advertised restaurant is closed. One outlet in the room to charge your phone. TV doesn't work.
