Stockdale Country Club

This country club is one of the old establishments here in Bakersfield. There were quite few antique furnitures inside and some pics of the past club presidents (as I remember) way back which were nice and informative. Regardless, the place was kept clean and dinner was great. I had dinner with colleagues by invitation from a company. Food was great, steak was cooked well, the only dish I didn't like was the dessert. I think it was a sorbet? It was hard when we tried to have a scoop, we weren't able to finish it.

Nice stop in the afternoon for a quick pick me up Espresso Martini. Added a little salty snack of popcorn. Beautiful atmosphere and great service from Luis.

This is a nice club and has good food. But I was really turned off by the woman bartender on 3/8/18. I went to the area with the only open bar at the moment. I barely walked up to the bar when the woman bartender said to me very rudely "go to the other bar, it is open." I said we were just over there and it's not open yet so they sent us to you. She then very rudely said "well I'm really busy right now" and turned her back to us. She didn't say ok, I'll be with you in a moment, she said "well I'm really busy right now." I wouldn't have had a problem at all waiting, but she was very rude! I said ok, I guess she doesn't want our business and walked away. My 3 employees and I walked away without being served. Thank you rude woman bartender

Um they have a really nice place... but they should really work on staffing. They are sometimes VERY disrespectful towards their customers. It was very disappointing...

Giving 5 stars makes my heart sing!! This is a beautiful venue, the food is fantastic, and the service is amazing. I loved the safe Halloween party they hold each year. Each time I've been for an event, everything has been spot on.

This review is for their Sunday brunch buffet. It's an above average buffet. They make some made to order high quality and delicious omelettes. Their hash browns, sausage, bacon and other breakfast fare is pretty good too. As far as the more lunchy time dishes they are average at best. It would satisfy the average Joe I'm sure but I'm a little more picky. I also figure since this is a very high dollar country club that the food should be a little more upscale. In a lot of dishes they used canned foods and it was pretty obvious. For instance in a fruit salad they obviously used canned peaches and in seafood dishes use imitation crab meat. For shrimp they have the small precooked, de-viened and shelled variety...not because they did it but because that's how it came in the bag. If you stick to the breakfast items you will be okay. They always have a very good quiche dish and other breakfasty stuff. They also include bottomless champagne that makes everything a bit more enjoyable. As far as the decor and state of the club I would give it 2.5 stars. It is more upscale but getting old and run down. There are places where the paint needs touched up and some crown molding and fixtures that just need replaced all together. In contrast they have some really nice areas like the bar, casual dining area and locker rooms. A lot of the formal areas decor is a little over done, especially around Christmas time.I'll keep coming back here when invited but there is no chance I would ever fork out the dough to become a member here.

This is a great place to meet business associates. The food and service, atmosphere is the best in town.

Great food, wonderful accommodation of our board meeting group! The service was flawless.

My family has been members since 1980 and the SCC never disappoints. The course is always well maintained and I always get the tee time I want.

Challenging course, great food, what more could you want? It's a very beautiful gem in the middle of Bakersfield.
