Stephen Hemmert Winery & Tasting Room

Highly recommend this taste room as a stop on your wine tour. If you're lucky enough to have Vanessa pouring, then you will have fun and learn a lot. I went in with only a tasting planned, ended leaving with a bottle of the Merlot and Grenache Rose. You can't go wrong with any selection here and the owner and Vanessa will guide you through it. Probably my top pick for AV wineries.

Hubby and I have been here several times. Stephen and Nicole are very nice, and the wine is great! We have been to several functions, and they are always professional and make sure everyone is having a great time. They have wine tastings, grape stomps, live music, sip and paints, etc. Try this place, you won't be disappointed!

I've been a wine club member for over a year and I don't know why it took me so long to write a review! My first experience with Stephen and Nicole was a wine tasting I attended with several of my friends. I was there because I loved the people I was with but I wasn't expecting to buy anything. I used to think I wasn't a wine person but now I think I just hadn't had the chance to experience it properly. I learned so much from them over the course of a couple of hours and found myself leaving with 3 bottles of wine!. They are both such wonderful people and their wines are so enjoyable! As a wine club member, I chose to get a mix of reds and whites every 3 months and I have not been disappointed at all with the selections they have chosen for me. They're always willing to answer questions about what foods will pair well with the new wines (which is super helpful for a beginner like me) and they always offer me the opportunity to sample the wines before taking them home. Overall, I couldn't ask for better service or atmosphere. I get an excellent product at a totally fair price and I always walk out happier than when I walked in!

We did the groupon for wine tasting flights. Had a couple of good zinfandels, all locally grown. After the wine tasting we went back and got a tour of their production facility. We tasted different wines, and Stephen gave us a very in depth explanation, and Q&A on wine making. He is very knowledgable, and we had a great time. We were pretty buzzed by the time we left! Great service, great wine, wonderful experience.

Went here with the ladies of my family from a groupon. The experience was great and we definitely left a little buzzed. I went wine tasting before but didn't learn as much about wines, the taste, and how each differs as I did here. Stephen and his wife made us feel as if we had been friends forever. Very nice couple who answered all our questions. Definitely recommend this winery.

Top notch hidden gem to a traveler! You could definitely tell there is a lot of local love for Stephen and his wife as many people knew each other to make this a neighborhood wine bar. Lots of lively conversation, good company, and love a bowl of pretzels while wine tasting. The little things The wine tastings here are $15 - a deal! Plus, the fact you can choose your five from their extensive list makes it more fun. Refreshing white wine, reds are also good. Not as bold as we tend to like, but all options were unique through the stories from Stephen (the winemaker) pouring and explaining where grapes came from, how the wines are made, etc. After our tastings, we bought a few bottles to continue enjoying at home.I say hidden gem because we almost missed it. Look for the parking spaces on the street as a marker. Our Uber driver missed it when going too fast.

Stumbled onto this place last weekend and am thrilled that I did. We tasted all of the reds and truly struggled to find which one we liked the best. Service matched the quality of the wine too. Holding a wine certification I can recommend this winery with great enthusiasm, looking forward to my next visit!! Thanks Stephen for your fabulous wines!!

I have know Stephen Hemmert for many years now , as a wine maker and friend. Along with his wife and entire family, they have had a vision of what he wanted his wines to be. He knew from the beginning, what he wanted and now , his tasting room reflects his dedication as a wine maker, community activist, and family man. I highly recommend you to visit his dream
