So many people mentioned this truck to me when it was off of District but I didn't get a chance to try it. So needless to say when I drove by the truck on Calloway and Meacham I was beyond ecstatic to give it a go!I was thrilled to see that not only did they offer the standard taco truck fare, but also had churros, queso birria tacos and birria ramen! My eyes were darting from item to item on their menu trying to figure out what I wanted to try first. I decided on the Tijuana tacos and the pepino Agra Fresca while the hubby ordered a queso birria taco and the Tijuana tacos. Everything was delicious and we have been back several times since.

The first time I tried SoCal Tamal was at the 2nd annual tamale festival a couple years back and now they have much more options then what I remember. So many people I know recommended this taco truck and food seems good and I would like take try them again. The food we brought home was super messy and I know they were busy, but the burrito that we ordered fell apart. The Torta was soggy and maybe it would've been different if I ate it at the site, but I literally live 5 min away from this place so not really sure. I really loved the little appetizers they include which is a tostada w beans and some onions w a chili. Food is definitely a 3.5 for me.I think you should try it because a lot of people I know love this taco truck. Their hot Cheetos tamale that I tried was really good. If you're a hot Cheetos fan then you should definitely check it out. This place always looks busy so you know food is always fresh.

One of my favorite food trucks in Bakersfield for real authentic Mexican food. From the tamales to the burritos, the food here is top notch, and to add the icing on the cake for this place is to make sure you grab a churro. I guarantee you never had a legit churro like this place and once you do you'll never be able to look the other ones again. This place is absolutely for food and and the very end, it doesn't leave a dent in your wallet like most places. Support local support small.

Ordered a cheese and a pork tamale and was highly disappointed. The spice was there, but flavor in the meat and masa was extremely bland (even with the green salsa dumped on top). Wanted to try their churros, but was informed that it was unavailable. I'd wait in line at Grandmas Tamales on a Sunday over this.

Closest tamales you'll get to abuelas! Oh and those birria queso tacos, will leave you drooling for more! They were slow when we got there, but got busy very quickly. The location is a weird spot, but ill be danged if it isn't worth your time and money. Hate to put it out there but better then Vallartas tamales. Going back to try the Birria Ramen next!!

I'm sorry to say this but this place got me do bad that I devoured my food before I even thought about taking a picture. I had the birria tacos accompanied with that yummy red soup-like sauce, then added that green slightly spicy salsa. It was a joyous merriment of flavors.Thank you for your friend smiles, welcoming demeanor, excellent customer service, and phenomenal food. I will definitely come back for more and this time, I'll take pictures

Currently the favorite local place for us to get tacos. Whenever we go to the escape rooms or the other places on district, we find ourselves hungry and we find ourselves here. To be frank:Get. The. Churros. Granted, I havent been introduced to a ton for churros in my life. My tastes go as far of Costco, but these churros are so good. It was like falling in love with a dessert all over again. Whenever they hand me one, "Feels like the first time" starts playing in my head. You can't really go wrong with anything on their menu. I've had their tacos with various proteins and they are all bomb. I ordered their tamales and had a good time. Depending on the time of day, their horchata can be watered down, but when it's not, its great. The guys that work here are also just good guys. The girls that take our order are always super sweet and you can tell the owner really takes pride in what he does. Wait times can be a bit long, but the quality and freshness of the food is more important to me. They also have taco Tuesday specials. You can't go wrong!
