Seven Oaks Country Club

There are many wonderful public and private country clubs in Bakersfield. However, if I were to be in a position to be in a private club, it would definitely be Seven Oaks! I've been a guest there, on several occasions, to play golf or tennis. The head professional, "Joe the Pro," was my first golf instructor, over 30 years ago, at the old Valley Rose public course, in Wasco. He taught me how to hit line drives with a 3 iron, tying it into my years of playing in organized, adult baseball (Hardball) since 1980. He literally grew up on the North Kern course, and he is a treasure, who anyone fortunate enough to have taken lessons from him knows!Jason, a certified tennis instructor, who is wise, beyond his years, focuses on the psychological, as well as physical aspects, of this game!The entire staff, as well as the executives, have gone above and beyond the call of duty, to accommodate this disabled senior citizen guest.My loyalty is to this incredible club. I will continue to work hard, in order to be worthy of being accepted into this ideal world, in the exclusive Seven Oaks area!

Watched the Super Bowl at Seven Oaks Highgate. Super nice area with plenty of kitchen area to store food and drinks.Awesome projector screen and tv outside the kitchen to watch the game Great place

The Wednesday night pasta bar is a big favorite of our family. We make reservations and it's always a lively atmosphere in the dining room. I use the fitness center. Treadmills are decent and there's a good variety of machines. The kids are looking forward to swimming this summer

I was invited through a friend who is a member to come play here which had been about 8 years or so since the last time I was here. First off let me say if I paid the membership fees currently that you all pay here with the way the course looked like that I just played....I would be in the Pros office at the top of my lungs telling him and his Superintendent they both should be fired. This is not the course I use to play and definitely in bottom 3 courses of conditions in all of Kern County. How members are ok with the current conditions of the course is beyond me and probably why there was nobody out there at 2pm on a Wednesday. Who punches greens in late June/July is beyond me when grass seasons changed back in April. Looks like pineapple weed starting to spread like wildfire and the course is so over watered that the fairways are burnt and continuing to burn more and the bunkers and areas around the green are so soggy and often mud puddles. No signs to direct you where to go as the 3 separate 9 holes sometimes crosses paths which I kinda get since it's a country club but not always do members play here. There was no beverage carts or places to grab beverages or snacks on the course the entire time which I've played city tan municipality courses that at least will sell you food and beverage. The nine holes I played was all I could last here. Word for all members here....your getting played on what your spending for what your getting! I would be looking for a new Pro and Superintendent with the current condition of the course; one more season of mismanagement care of your course and you'll lose it for years to come!

Normally, I would not write a review for a country club wedding banquet but the food was so good that it had to be acknowledged. We were invited to a wedding at the Seven Oaks Country Club in Bakersfield, California, so expectations were not high for the dinner banquet. After a perfect wedding ceremony on the grounds, the banquet of about 25 tables began. Appetizers Grilled lamb chops tender medium rare Small sized beef Wellington puff pastry with beef and mushroomsLarge bacon wrapped shrimp tender and moistRomaine lettuce salad with mandarin orange slices and a dijon vinaigrette Large beef filet Huge prawns with a crab cake Grilled Halibut Pureed potatoesSauteed asparagusThe food could rival many high end steakhouses. The service was excellent. We are friends with the brides parents and the father mentioned that they choose the top level "platinum " dinner selection for his baby girl's big day.

We have enjoyed their food every time we go. Their pasta night on Wednesday has so much to offer. Their brunch on the weekends is also very appealing.

My boss took a group of us there for an informal lunch meeting. I was impressed by the diversity in their lunch menu. However when we each started placing our order we began to find out they were out of most of the dishes each of us wanted to order. I ordered a falafel sandwich. When I got my sandwich I noticed the tahini sauce was missing. I notified the waiter and he proceeded to tell me they ran out. He offered ranch instead. I ended up eating my sandwich dry, which was that pleasant. For a country club of this scale I expected better. I've been to other events here and I have always been pleased with their service and food. Not sure what was going on this day. Our waiter did have a great sense of humor and it was quiet enough for a lunch meeting. Three stars for that.

Great golf coarse with a very friendly staff. Our boys enjoy the jr. golf program and it has really helped their game. We enjoy eating brunch at the Oak Grill on Sundays. We joined in August 2019 and have been very happy with our experience.

Like family that's family Can't say enough. Years as a member still miss this place when we are out of town
