Seoul Shikdang

So good! We came here for an early Valentine's Day lunch and were impressed by the food and decor. The owners are so nice, we were seated immediately. Our server was very attentive and was always checking to see if we needed anything. Food is fairly priced and also delicious! I ordered the Spicy Tofu Stew and my husband got the Kal-guksu. The banchan was also good. We saved room for hotteok which was made perfectly. We will definitely be back because all of their dishes sound delicious .

Came here with my wife for an after work dinner. The place is super cute inside. It was designed to look like you're eating in a Korean courtyard. Seemed like it would be a nice casual date spot. The service was also amazing. The servers were super nice and accommodating. Orders: Garlic suyuk: this was a sizzling plate of pork that you ate with rice, garlic, a spicy sauce, and green onion (I think). Huge portion size and probably good for at least 3 people. We had quite a bit left over. It was super tasty. I'd come back just to order this again. Seafood pancake: the seafood pancake was deliciously crispy. Came with a nice dipping sauce. My wife loves this. Spicy tofu soup: a comforting soup filled with lots of soft tofu, some meat, and veggies. Overall, a solid spot for Korean food. Again, the garlic suyuk was SO good. Definitely give it a try. I've also heard that all their curry dishes are fantastic! Can't wait to come back to try more things.

I tried their hot stone brisket and it was a very good portion, super filling. I just wish they had some type of dipping sauce for the meat. Their 떡볶이 was so chewy and yummy. It has some spice so make sure you know that before you order. To add cheese it's an extra cost. I loved the vibes of this place, it does get busy since it's not a super big place. At around 5/6 there was a line. I was a little sadden to see their prices were upped. The hotteok was so yummy and a pretty big size. It's nutty and hot.

While traveling to Bakersfield for work, I wanted some Korean food, so I trusted Yelp to provide some good recommendations near my hotel.I came here around 5:30pm, it was quite early so there were plenty of tables. However, as I was leaving, the tables were filling up so I can imagine it can get pretty busy.I ordered the sweet/spicy fried chicken and army stew. It was good. It's not on par with some of the other Korean spots I've been too. But, I'm from the Bay Area where there are so much options. So, it's unfair to compare. Overall, I was satisfied and enjoyed my meal. The only complaint I have would be the use of chicken breast nuggets. I prefer wings or drumsticks. But, other than that, it was good

Oh thank goodness an authentic Korean spot in Bakersfield for even more variety! Bakersfield doesn't offer any staple "tang" (Korean soup) so I'm excited to have this around. Although Japanese, I've also been hoping someone would start serving Japanese curry in town. Ordered the Garlic Suyuk and the Pork Katsu Curry. Garlic Suyuk - 10/10. The broth is heavenly. I spooned it out and put it all over my rice. Make sure you have some of the ssamjang with it. Looks spicy but it isn't. Tons of umami in this dish for seemingly unseasoned pork. Pork Katsu Curry - 9/10. Served piping hot! The pork was a slightly slightly slightly overdone, so a little firm. I would love if this dish had potatoes, onions, and carrots for the price of $23. Other than that very flavorful indeed. Nice touch having furikake on the rice. The ambiance was nice and I felt transported. Must have been a lot of work creating the decor! The service was also nice as they were fairly attentive but you might have to call their attention as it didn't feel like typical American where they need to check on you every 5 mins. To me that's a good thing. Need to go back and order their Galbi Jjim!

The space is not too big but feels cozy and clean. The food is delicious, well seasoned and served quickly & friendly.

Yummy food, the atmosphere is pretty nice, the food was devoured we ordered 5 dishes the jalepeno cheese curry katsu, rose tteokbokki, army stew, bbq beef, garlic soy chicken, and mushroom japchae. The mushroom japchae & rose tteokbokki was definitely my fav.

Amazing service! Food was so yummy, definitely recommend the rose tteokbokki & the garlic soy chicken ! The waiter was very attentive, fast, and nice. Overall perfect place to eat at with friends !
