I've had their food over 4 times and just barely getting to add a review. I can never just look, smell and walk away from this truck when they are either at the Farmers Market on Ming ok Sunday or the one at Hageman on Saturday at Centennial High School. The food is amazing each and every time I get them and they are super fast , especially with the amount of people ordering (hint: Go to the Saturday Farmers market, a lot easier to get in and out and quicker. ) Please support them, as it hits the spot, especially if your Vietnamese and Chinese and want your craving of rice, pork belly or BBQ chicken specia Filipino flavor.

Don't do it, got food yesterday at the farmers market and boyfriend was not happy. I'm Filipino and it was pretty bad. He got the chicken adobo bowl and veggie lumpia. Chicken is stewing chicken so lots of bones, chicken was dry and no sight of adobo sauce. Rice was mush, veggie lumpia was burned and they turned on the bottom so we couldn't see it on top.

The first time I had Sarap it was at a pop up in front of Beer Billy's. At that point we had the pork skewers and the shanghai lumpia. Both were amazing. This time I ordered from the food truck at the Haggins Oak farmers market. Very friendly person at the front who took my order and double checked availability on items. The menu does rotate, and the chicken adobo wasn't ready yet. I decided on one bbq chicken combo plate and one pork adobo combo plate. There was a rice fiasco so they said I could wait for fresh rice or get full pancit. More pancit? Hell yes! Great portions. My pork adobo came with a side of sauce. Great flavor on both the pork, which was super tender and also the flavor of the pancit was one of the best I've ever had. My husband had the bbq chicken and he said the sauce that came with it was slightly spicy but great flavor. We both agreed we would order both plates again.

I have been searching this truck down for months and finally found them at the Marketplace farmers market one Sunday morning. To say I was ecstatic is an understatement but I was quickly saddened when I was told I could not get the pancit without pork. I have mentioned my surprise before about restaurants not having more non pork options for those that don't eat it available. I really feel that they are hindering themselves without this. My next choice was the lumpia but again, I was quickly saddened when they informed me that they didn't have them on hand at that time. So I had to quickly find something else to order and decided to try their special jackfruit. I don't remember what the name of the dish was but it was jackfruit in a coconut milk and it was amazing. For my first time ever having jackfruit, I loved it prepared this way. The hubby went with the pork belly and pan it and loved it all. I wish I would've gotten to try what I went there for but I'm happy with the jackfruit. I'm not sure I will go back since they don't offer enough non pork options for me.

Filipino food is in short supply in Bakersfield. Good Filipino food is even harder to find! Good thing Bakersfield now has Sarap! Filipino food is severely underrated and I'm glad this truck is working to share these flavors to the community. I had their sisig a few months ago in the local Sunday farmer's market. Out of the three dishes I've had, that one right there is the best. Easily one of the better servings of sisig I've had in the US. They have a rotating menu so you might want to call ahead if you need to know what they're serving for the day. And trust me, you'd wanna know if the sisig is available. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile from Jen the owner who promptly took our order. She was so nice and cheerful. Even gave us a serving of lumpia! Boneless BBQ Chicken - 9/10. Very juicy, sauce has that signature sweet tangy flavor from banana ketchup and the usual umami from soy sauce. I think the chicken needed a little more salt so I added my own but nonetheless really really good! Grilled Pork Belly - 10/10. This tasted like home. Any Filipino grandmother would be proud. If the serving was any bigger I would be in trouble! Lumpia - 8/10. Hot and crunchy so you know they fry them upon order! Nothing worse than lumpia that's been sitting around all chewy. The pancit was overflowing with vegetables! I like it cause it feels lighter and not like you're having just a huge serving of carbs. I love how they lay out the food on your plate. Visually appealing and not messy. After all you're better off with all that sauce dripping into your rice! The banana leaves were a great touch for extra authenticity. I wouldn't even know where you would source them. Really gives off that home made vibe.

Overall it was enjoyable but I think I'll try something else next time I go. Ordered the grilled pork belly combo and the vegetable lumpin. Pork had a bit too much fat for my liking but that's more on my preference. I think I will go with the chicken next time. Overall aesthetically nice and good portions. The vegetable lumpin was also not my favorite but I will get the pork one next time to see if I enjoy that better. Friendly people with reasonable service speed.

(Ma)sarap is delicious in Filipino. And boy it was! Found their food truck at the far end of the Haggin Oaks Farmer's Market on a Sunday afternoon. My daughter initially wanted their pork skewers but because we were late, they ran out of it and she decided to have the grilled pork belly. They make your food made-to-order so expect a little bit of wait. Also, they have limited availability of food so make sure you come in early. They have various food choices written on the side of the truck but the available ones are the ones written on the chalkboard outside. We decided to eat at home and on our way home, you can't ignore that smell that filled up the car. The food was even more amazing as soon as we took the first bite. The pork was succulent and juicy, the flavors are probably the best ones I have tasted by far. Take it from this Filipina who makes her own home-cooked meals! The pancit, of course, is a bonus and I can say that the whole meal is certainly worth the wait!

Finally got to try out this food truck at the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market! The staff was so nice. The food was fresh and a nice change. Everything was delicious. We went on a beautifully overcast day (I love the clouds). Every once in a while the sun would peek through. The hubby and I found a standing table and enjoyed our meal outdoors. It was a perfect Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend!
