This place hasn't lost its touch ... went by last Saturday and boy oh boy I'll be back thank u for the great service an delicious food

Came in at 7:20ish last night. Bought a Flaco taco (I'm vegetarian) and my friend got the OG. Lemme start by saying, a veggie taco there is ridiculously overpriced. $8 for a mini taco is insane. But that was the only thing I could get. When I got home, I came to see that there was barely any filling. On top of that, they didn't add avocado, like they should have!. I'm not one to complain about food prices or a place usually, but this was absolutely wild. $8 for a mini taco with barely any filling, no avocado. Looked at pics of other flaco tacos online and mine looked nothing like that. This place felt like highway robbery.

Came here for lunch for an unexpected lunch date with my girlfriend. Didn't realize how small this place was. Although the inside is a work of art, I was amazed at every detail. I got a California burrito with asada and added shrimp. Usually Cali burritos have meat and shrimp with fries but shrimp was an extra charge. I was surprised at how small the burrito was compared to vatos tacos (which includes shrimp). Over the taste was still good but the 5150 sauce made it better. My girlfriend got carne asada nachos which was pretty good and the chips had good texture. For the price I felt like it could've been better portions but overall it was okay.

Wow! What a cool taco shop walking in was a vibe! Great art and decor! So much to look at! Large fun menu! I got a shrimp taco, OG taco and flounder pounder- and an ice cold Pacifico! All three tacos were delicious and unique! Can't wait to come back and try more menu items! Also a cool location walking distance to other cool bars and shopping and even an awesome antique store right behind it! Only bummer and negative on a 5 star was the girl taking orders was a little on the rude side to us and other customers, hopefully she's not working on our next visit!

The place is small inside!! There's music playing, and seating outside! The lines can get pretty long, so sometimes there's a wait. The burrito is VERY much stuffed! I enjoyed every bite because each bite had the protein. I tried all their sauces and there's one for each person, sweet, sweet and spicy, very spicy.

Well after reading the reviews I wanted to give this place a chance. Reviews are kinda hit and miss as you read through them a little deeper. Lots of high reviews, but quite a few lower end reviews as well....I decided to make a taco only test to see whether it was fire or bust! If a taco place has bad tacos, the rest of the food is probably bad too.Ordered the OG (steak), the Federale (Pork), the Flounder (Fish) and the Flaco (Veggie)...Started with the BEST of the bunch, the Federale...Carnitas was lucious and super tasty. It was super tender with a lot of great flavor. I think I would eat 50 of those with just a bit of their green salsa...If I was judging on taste alone, it was EASILY 5 stars, but execution makes it 1 star. Taco instantly fell apart with 1 bite. It was only in the aluminum container about 3 minutes as I literally walked straight to the car and started eating it. I really wanted to like it, as the flavor, is maybe, one of the BEST carnitas bites I've had, but it fell out all over the tray!Next, the OG which was steak...Again flavor was really good. Seasoning on the meat was pretty tasty, but again the tortilla completely fell apart before I could eat it, with a large amount of gristle ruining the beef as well. For the cost of all these tacos, which was kinda high for what you got, the tacos should have stellar meat quality and finishing ingredients, but sadly not in this case. The other two tacos (Flounder and Flaco), were a huge bomb. The flounder tasted like old fish, SUPER fishy taste and WAY over salted in an attempt to cover up the fact that it wasn't fresh. Had way better fish tacos all over town! I don't even know what to say about the Flaco?!? That thing was absolutely tasteless! I could tell I was eating a mushroom or an artichoke heart, but it wasn't much elevated above plain vegetable. Minimal seasoning if any at all and absolutely nothing special! Both the fish and veggie taco also fell apart. All four tacos needed either double tortillas or a thicker version to better control its fillings! Complete bust as far as a presentable taco that was eatable...Well all and all, this visit fell super flat! Not sure if I'll be back, unfortunately. The ones that were tasty, weren't a cohesive product, falling apart before it could even be tasted. Only saving grace was that every staff person, in the store, were so nice and really tried to help. Great service and quickly got my food in less than 10 minutes. If I could rate it on them alone, it would be 5 stars easy!!Inside was just cray cray...Super colorful new vibe with this very odd monkey statue thing staring at me while I waited. If the food held up to the fun environment, this place would be amazingly fun, sadly the food fell way short tonight. I'll possibly try again and update my review if it's better!! I so wanted to like this place....

After last night I don't think we'll be back. I called in an order to take over to my daughter for dinner. The girl on the phone was great, even when I went in to get it she was nice. I had the chicken tacos, oh wait! What chicken?! There was maybe 2-3 pieces of chicken in my 3 tacos. My husband had the asada fries, and there was barely any meat! Very sad and disappointing how this owner has failed keeping this place running like the one he has in Huntington. I know when you use to go in they would load everything up, but not anymore! There are cheaper taco places with more food around town!

I read the reviews & so I decided to try; its definitely a unique & interesting place on the corner in old town Bakersfield; everyone was friendly; but we were really disappointed with the tacos. I tried to try most of them, my favorite ones were the 'Fedérale (carnitas) and surf and turf. unfortunately the surf and turf only had two shrimp but the sauce was good. Everything else was pretty dry, I asked for salsa to go, she stated they each had sauce on them, & then she said she could give me one but then she came back with two despite the fact that I had over $40 worth of tacos which I thought was kind of stingy.. would I go back? No, they're definitely overpriced & the flavors not there and believe me I'm a taco lover and I've had tacos from pretty much anywhere and everywhere ‍

Just walking into the taco shop was amazing. We just kept looking and finding new cool things all o er the walls and ceiling. The place is small but very cool to eat at. The food is reasonably priced and the variety is nice. The taste is super good. I'm in shock how good this food is. I just came from San Diego over the weekend home of asada fries and these fries come in a close 2nd. Great job with the taser, portions, and value. The service is wonderful. The staff is always checking on us and always has a smile. Come check it out you will not be disappointed.

Do not go on Wednesday evening. It's a waste of money. The flaco burrito was bad that I almost threw up on the table. The chips were burnt or cooked in old oil. I can't go back after the bad experience.
