I have a nephew from L.A., and he is a big fan of Guy Fieri's Diners Drive-Ins. and Dives. He wanted to try Salty's Bbq after watching the episode they were featured on. So we took him here along with his parents when they visited us.There are two locations. We took them to the location on White Lane because they have indoor seating, and it was hot the day they dropped by so we all wanted air conditioning.Salty's Sampler Platter is what the 5 of us shared. It came with Pulled Pork, Tri-Tip, Chicken, Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, Brisket, and Hot LInks. We deovoured it all. Not a single leftover piece of meat was left after we were through with it. I asked my nephew if it met his expectations or if he was disappointed. He said that Guy did not let him down. He gave Salty's a 5 stars Thumbs UP. I liked all the meats too. I was not as enthusiastic as he was. Still, I felt that it was a good meal. Wouldn't mind coming back again. It is a terrific place to especially take out of town guests to. Give them a taste of a local Bakersfield restaurant that has been featured nationally. Cool ambiance both inside and outside the restaurant is a plus too.

We were passing by on our way to Sacramento & although it was about 20 min out of our way, I wanted to stop and so glad we did. Great customer service, the best bbq brisket I've ever had, the chicken was delicious & so was they coleslaw. Parking was no problem & the aroma from the outdoor smoker/grill is out of this world. Also, the prices are not bad at all.

As a new resident here in Bakersfield, I was craving some bbq. I saw the Diners, Drive-in and Dive's advertisements of this place and wanted to check it out. Also, my colleague recommended this place to me. I ordered online and was excited to see how fast they prepared my food.I ordered the spare ribs, pulled pork and chicken with their potatoes salad and beans sides. I was semi disappointed at how dry the ribs were, hardly any sauce. I had with me extra of the bbq sauce and did not like how salty it was. I guess with a name like Salty's, I shouldn't have been surprised. The true gem and saving grace of Salty's are their sides. The potato salad is really good and enjoyed the olives as part of their recipe. The beans were also very good. Overall, tbh, I've had better, but this is a very decent bbq place. Probably will give it a second chance.

I wanted something healthy and I was really craving some barbecue. Parking in back is plentiful but the lot can get a bit muddy when it rains. They have large smokers outside that fill the air with delicious barbecue smells that instantly hits you when you arrive. Tried the Tri-tip salad the first time and it really hit the spot. I ended up coming back just to try the chicken salad also. Both were really great. The meat to salad ratio was just about right. I would definitely come back. The smoke and flavors of the meat were really stellar and the service was friendly. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for something to satisfy your BBQ cravings.

Omg my buddy and I are in Bakersfield for a convention he love bbq and found this place. The meat is very well seasoned and super juicy. My sister and got the brisket and ribs combo that came with both beef and pork ribs. Oh yes! I'm usually not a sauce guy but the sauce here enhances the ribs that is on the meat! I think I'm gonna get some to take home!!

After the last stop of an extended work road trip, Salty's came up on Yelp as a lunch place that was only 800 feet away! I'll attribute that to Divine providence.I ordered a brisket sandwich with BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and mac & cheese. The brisket was cooked perfectly - tender and flavorful. The BBQ sauce was delicious, and the bread, a "Pyrenees roll", was fantastic. It was toasted and buttered (maybe garlic butter). The coleslaw and mac & cheese were also very good. The train cabin and the outdoor covered picnic dining area all add to the BBQ party vibe, and the service was super-prompt.

Salty's BBQ is one of my favorite bbq spots in California hands down! It never disappoints and I've brought a few friends here over the years and they absolutely love it. It's a favorite of locals but also well worth the travel to dine here if you're passing through the area.I found this spot because of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Knew I had to give this spot a try given how amazing the food looked and for the stellar reviews. It's definitely a 5 star Yelp casual dining bbq restaurant.I love everything about this place, the food, the ambiance, prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly.The staff here are always very nice and helpful. Sometimes bbq spots can be a little intimidating for us gals with all of the bbq pit masters and male energy running through the place but everyone that works here is nice and patient with you if your not a regular bbq connoisseur. They've always been kind when I've ordered at the register and I like that they bring out your food to you vs having people crowd around the front to claim their food. They have a good system going. Nice people. I love the indoor and outdoor concept for dining. On a warm day sitting outside on their shaded patio is really nice and comfortable. They have a good amount of benches and tables, so even when this spot gets busy we find a place to sit. Inside is actually adorable as it's an old train car that they've made into a small sit down restaurant style. Super cool for kids or if you're just trying to stay indoors.My all time favorite dish here is the saltys special sandwich. It's a 10/10 and everytime I recommend it people fall in love with it! The saltys special is tri tip, pulled pork, peppers, bbq sauce, and coleslaw on a delicious hoagie roll. It's the perfect hot/cold sandwich combo. Beyond flavorful and delicious. I get this sandwich hold the peppers and then grab an extra side of bbq sauce. I'm telling you, you have to try this.For side dishes I actually think their coleslaw is the hands down best side here and the beans are a close second. Even though the coleslaw is so good it already comes on the salty special sandwich so for that reason I usually go with the beans or the spicy Mac and cheese as a side.Love this place and definitely worth adding to your Yelp Kern County bucket list.

Had a nice lunch with my son at Salty's today. Very comfortable seating outside. For the price of a McDonald's combo, you can instead get a pulled pork or brisket sandwich combo. Fresher and healthier! We both had pulled pork today. I ordered "The Pig" which comes with a wonderful coleslaw on it. The sweetness of the slaw was a perfect counterpoint to the sauce they put on their pulled pork. We both had spicy Mac n cheese which my son loved. We love local, we enjoy Salty's and we will be back!

The food was great I highly recommend the brisket . I had it delivered to my hotel room and it was still hot

Consistently delicious. They provide generous portions for the price. I always have leftovers to enjoy.
