Royal Taj Food

Royal Taj Food now occupies the former Taj Mahal restaurant. Came on a weekday and was surprised that a lunch buffet wasn't being offered. I asked if they will ever serve a buffet and they stated no. I stayed and ordered off of the menu as it was the same as the former Taj Mahal's menu so I was familiar with the offerings. Decided to order the Chicken Malai (chicken cooked in a creamy and coconut curry) as this was my go-to with former ownership. It came out quickly and the spices were on point. The order came with rice and naan. I ordered the garlic naan and it was amazingly garlic and buttery. I would have preferred that the Chicken Malai was creamier (it was a bit on the thinner side) and had a stronger coconut flavor, but it was good. Definitely will need to come and try the other dishes!

Butter lamb, chicken curry, Naan, and pakora were all tasty. Just a few Idian beers, but they were good. Went because of the review in the paper and it lived up to the review. The place is very dated, no lunch buffet, and I wasn't sure how clean everything is. Very nice waiter (owner) and he explained which area of India the dishes came from and we plan on going back. He didn't ask the level of spicy we wanted and my husband would have liked more but I liked the level.

Met friends for lunch. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We soon discovered why....The four of us sat at our table. We were handed menus. As we were looking at the menus a baby roach ran across the table. At that moment we got up to leave. The waitress came back and my wife told her what had happened as we were walking to the door. The waitress then said "i can sit you at another table"Yeah, that's okay. Goodbye

The service was nice and friendly. The food was really tasty and they give you plenty of rice to go with your main entree too! I got the lamb butter masala and a mango lassi and enjoyed every bite/sip! I definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes delicious, authentic Indian food!Update - Ordered the same dish for take out last night and I have to say I'm very disappointed. The lamb butter masala was so spicy it upset my stomach plus it was full of more bones than meat. The only thing that saved the experience was the mango lassi. It was still very good. I don't know what happened. If perhaps they had on off day but I'm sad because their food was so delicious the first time.

The food here is great but unfortunately today is the last time I'll be ordering. I am just too uncomfortable with the situation.Phoned in an order and I must have been too confusing on the phone, idk but I just wanted my food to be not spicy. I'm too sensitive for any heat level but I love Indian food. There was a miscommunication and my dish was incredibly spicy and I couldn't eat it. My partner was next to me when I placed the order and he heard me say multiple times and I thought I clarified that I wanted no spice, no spicy at all. I called and told them and they offered a replacement and to bring my food with me, so I did.When I got there a lady told me that on the phone I had said I wanted the food spicy, they double-check the phone orders they take and pretty much that I was wrong. I felt like a little kid getting scolded in the middle of the restaurant. I thought I clarified multiple times on the phone but apparently not and she just said that *this* time they'll replace it. So I sit at the bar when the chef/someone from the kitchen comes out and they just start arguing about it right in front of me. I don't want the food anymore because....... wtf? So they're arguing and I tell them it's fine I'm good and I'll go but then they insist they'll make it but it was just all around super uncomfortable. In the end I got my food and they gave me a rice pudding dessert which was good but I still only ate a little of the remade food, it was significantly less spicy but still too much for me so I just gave up. But yeah... not cool so just make sure you order online so there's zero miscommunications.

Tan Mahal was our go to for Indian food. This evening my husband ordered and brought home dinner from Royal Taj for the first time. I got mushroom Marsala. He ordered it mild as I don't like heat but do like Indian spices. Item was described as mushrooms and veg, cheese in sauce. What I got was mushrooms that were very salty and had no sauce or discernible Indian spices. I am very disappointed.

Every people love to come here, because new management are very nice and they gives delicious food.
