Service was excellent place is clean and the fact that it's an old style dinner with a jukebox with Elvis Presley music .. is a touch of food is hot made fresh .. I got chilly cheese fries they come with Nacho Cheese as they should thank you .. for great service I'll be back

I've been eating here since I was a kid and every time I comeback I'm always afraid something changed. Thankfully thought out the years since I've moved, it's still remains the best burgers I've ever had. Every time I comeback home I always hit up root beer king because it always delivers. I do miss the old decor the place had but it's whatever and service it's decent they'll get your order right. 10/10 will recommend. Please keep doing what you're doing and I look forward to my next visit.

I've been meaning to stop by here when I'm in Lamont for work after my co-workers had been preaching about how good it was. I finally got the chance last week and it was so nice I ate there twice. First stop I had a double cheeseburger and fries, both absolutely delicious. Enjoyed every bite, the burger was packed with flavor, fries were nice and crispy, everything was seasoned really well couldn't have asked for better. The second time I asked them to add the spicy sauce the put on the ortega burger to my double cheeseburger and it made something already great just a little bit better, the sauce was great and perfect on that burger. I can't recommend it enough and you can get a combo with a burger, fries and drink for under $12, where else can you get that today?

My friend brag about this place, The service was terrible , the tables were dirty, we had to clean them ourselves. The food could used salt , No season on the burger , it look so good but once I took a bite my hamburger meat was burnt , an need salt it was bland . The fries were delicious, thar was the fries is what made the one star go into a three stars.

Root Beer King is a quaint burger joint in an unexpected area: Lamont. Okay I'd never been in Lamont before, so sorry if I just offended everyone! My friend and I both had avocado burger combos with root beer (what else)? BIG BURGER and probably a whole avocado on it. It was more than I could eat, which is saying something. The service is great and the classic furnishings and signs are fun!

Root beer king is a Lamont staple, I used to eat here every weekend when I lived in Lamont. You can never go wrong with the king burger add pastrami and a side of chili cheese fries. I guarantee you won't leave hungry. There Pattie's are homemade and made to order the seasoning is on point and the best part is the little bit of seasoning they put on top of the bun when served. The menu is vast and guaranteed to have something for everyone. I've been to the one in Bakersfield on Niles but it's definitely not the same as the original. The staff at the Lamont location is always friendly and the service is great. It's a bit of a drive but I'd highly recommend you make it to have a great burger. I do have to say the prices have gone up so it is a bit pricey now but the portions are huge especially with the fries, they're not stingy. You could just order a burger and share and order of fries.

Yeah, it was okay. $18 plus pastrami combo, with fries, and a medium Pepsi. Slightly chewy pastrami on a greased up hot dog buns with pickles and mustard, was okay at best. Fries are definitely the highlight, seasoned well and they give you a bunch. The biggest thing to me was this is a $12 combo with a $18 price tag. Take care of your community and keep the prices reasonable. Won't be driving out to Lamont from Bako again for this place, thank God I have an ev. I did like the location though, one extra star for that alone.
