Ritmo Kitchen and Lounge

The food was 10 out of 10. I enjoyed everything that was brought to the table. We ordered the cojita cilantro salad with grilled chicken and the 16 oz. Ribeye. The chicken in the salad had a great flavor and was warm on a crisp bed of fresh romaine. The dressing was wonderfully cilantro-y (if you are not a fan of cilantro don't get this dressing). The steak came with asparagus and another choice side. I chose baked mac&cheese. The steak was ordered medium and was cooked perfectly. There was a mound of fresh salt flakes next to it that enhanced the flavor beautifully. The steak had a nice marbled effect and it melted in my mouth. This is the best steak I've had from a restaurant in quite some time. The asparagus still had nice crunch and the red onion and cherry tomatoes that had been sautéed with it were a nice touch. The Mac & cheese noodles were the large cork screws and had a nice chunk of melty cheese in the center. The outer edges were more saucy and less cheesy. It was good, but nothing to write home about. For desert we shared the peach mango ice cream served on a warm butter cake with a mango drizzle. The combination of flavors was delicious. The service was great. We felt very attended to. Our waitress was perfectly pleasant and several others stopped by to check in and make sure our experience was good. A couple of strange things happened that we couldn't really explain, like silverware being brought to the table wrapped in paper napkins, then another set of silverware being delivered in linens. The linens were removed and more paper napkins were left in their place. I was a little offended by this. I do not believe this was in anyway meant to be offensive. I'm a linen napkin and proper silverware type of person even at home. The silverware did not match and we were only given a fork, I had to ask for a knife. not ideal. I've harped on way too long about silverware and napkins, dare I mention no table clothes! The ambiance was baffling to me. It was definitely decorated by at least two individuals that had separate visions. It had both warm and white light. There was definitely some loud tables with more of a dance party club vibe and then individuals trying to have a quiet conversation with a nice steak meal. All in all. I'll definitely return when I want a delicious steak dinner.

Got sat right away, then proceeded to sit at our table for 20 minutes without being acknowledged by a single server. There were however, no less than 5 employees gathered around the host station playing on their phones while we sat there unattended.Too bad, was excited to try it.

Friday night at "Da Club". Red carpet and velvet ropes greet you at the door of Ritmo Steakhouse & Lounge and if this had been my third stop of a night out, the fit and finish may have gone unnoticed. Although the decor may not be to my taste the food is. You must have a steak. It's served on a butcher block with a mound of flaky salt ( which I add one bite at a time). Delicious!This is a difficult place to rate. The food was great which should make it easy, but the lighting was distracting. The chairs are uncomfortable. the water, which is brought to the table in a decanter( nice touch) really needs to be filtered. TVs TVs TVs.TVs on every wall. Nine in total. This would be fine in a Sports Bar where I'm eating nacho or fries. Sports Bars are about beers, buddies and sportsball games. The food is an afterthought. Ritmo's makes a great steak but they serve it with a side of distractions.

Excellent food thank you Flash (chef) -- Fantastic service, thank you Lacey (server) -- and great cocktails, thank you Danny!! Finally got some names to go along with the excellent service, food and drinks. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Well I have heard people rave about this place so my family and I went to try it out. Ambiance was nice. The steak I ordered was very undercooked for the temperature I requested (medium). I could not even eat it. My sons tacos were barely eatable. When our waiter saw that I hadn't touched my steak he asked so I showed him. It was solid purple in the middle. He asked why I didn't have him recook it and I answered with because you never returned to check on the meal. Oh and the best part the bill was $349.00 for 5 people.

Decided on a fairly new spot for a good steak. When we came at around 6:20pm on a Saturday night they weren't very busy. By the time we left around 7:45lm it had picked up a bit. The vibe is fairly modern-nothing like what we have experienced before in the sort of old Bakersfield settings like KC steakhouse and Horse in the alley. The decode and lighting is modern with high tables and also some comfier couch seating. They have a large bar that seemed popular as wells food came out quick. Some of the more finished details like wall coverings and bathroom decor were not as put together as expected. The food overall was good and service was attentive and quick.

My wife and I went for Valentine's day. She ordered the New York and I ordered the Rib Eye steak, both steaks were too salty. My wife's steak was more salty than mine and she took most of hers and half of mine home to cook it with something else to ease the saltines. The garlic butter that we ordered to dip the steaks was even more salty, we never had anything that salty anywhere else before. We also ordered a bottle of wine that we couldn't enjoy because of the saltiness already in our mouth. The only bright thing about our visit was Lacy, she was not our server but she was always coming around to ask if we needed anything.

Finally made it in to check this spot in our neighborhood out. It was very good. They had a great date night steak special to try, but we opted to graze for variety. Started out with a Paloma and it was perfect. So tasty and refreshing. I loved it. The ribeye bites with guacamole were a great start. Tender pieces of juicy ribeye with fresh guacamole pickled onions and crisp blue corn chips. Next was the calamari. Cooked crispy with a nicely spiced batter tossed with sliced red chilis and a chipotle dipping sauce. Texture was great with no chewiness. Rounded out with the grilled ribeye tacos. The juicy ribeye again (it was a steak kinda night). Served inside 2 large blue corn tortillas, with a grilled cheese skirt inside (a nice surprising twist) pickled onions and chilies. Everything was very good. We will be going back. Our server was very sweet and welcoming. Ordered using delivery service and food was still warm and fresh. Amazing flavors in the ribeye tacos. Seriously one of the better things I've eaten. Ribeye could have been trimmed a bit better, hard to avoid a fatty/gristly but I'm a taco bite. I will absolutely be order from here again.

Cool new trendy place. Has always been there but in a different fashion, the new menu and remodel along with being tucked away doesn't make me want to share where this place is. Great cocktails, cool spot my kids love it, great for adults only as well.
