Stopped in after a day of metal detecting at Hart Park. I was real thirsty and needed a snack also. The hispanic girl that helped me was so unbelievably sweet. I told her i had to drive back home to Lancaster and she was genuinely caring about my safe trip home. Very nice and polite. For this reason i will return when im in the area.

Rio Bravo Market is essentially a Chevron with a mini-mart store attached. The fancy name and sign are to class it up a bit for the neighborhood. What can i say about it? Chevron gas is usually the most expensive out there and this is no different, but let's face it - If you wanted to pay less for gas you'd go to ARCO or Fastrip, so that's not why you're here. The store felt dark (not well lit) which was funny because I have been going there on bright summer days and they do have windows in the store. For a mini-mart, it's well stocked. You can get all your basic cold beverages, including a decent selection of cold beer, your candies, and a better than average selection of chips. I found at least 3 different flavors of Takis there which you can't find everywhere. What makes this mini-mart so different is its location near Lake Ming. My friends and I always meet up there when we go rafting on the Kern River, and it is a short jump from all the overnight campsites. Rio Bravo Market carries the essentials you'd need for both, sunscreen, extra paddles, and just about everything you need to cook out. They have some inner tubes displayed on the wall for tubing on the river that were really cheap! However, the sign on the inner tubes said they required cash only to get that price. So, if you're stocking up on cheap rafting or camping supplies, do it in town. But if you get here and you're missing something, this is a quick and convenient place to pick them up.

I was directed here because they sell tubes for floating on the river. They have the ability to take credit card, but for some reason the cashier, an asian guy, refused to take credit card when I tried to make my purchase. Not only that, but he was also rude about it. It was pretty shady. If you have cash, fine. But if you want to pay with credit expect the cashier to be a total douche about it.

CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!! THEY CHARGE MORE THAN WHAT THEY SHOULD!!!!I went in to buy some waters. I saw a 32 pack of Aquafina's and a 24 pack of off brand waters so to save money I decided to go for the off brand waters. The cashier went ahead and charged me for $13.99 the 32 pack of waters which I did not buy. When I noticed that I was charged for the wrong pack I went back. And the guy said that the only difference was $1. The reason why I am mad is not because he charged me for the wrong item it was the lack of him saying "if you get the better water you only pay $1 more" but instead he decided to charge me more for something else. And top of that he was rude and mad at the fact that I even said anything. I was just one person imagine how many times a day they do this. Be careful!
