A hidden gem! We wouldn't have found this place if me and my fiancé didn't see it on Airbnb while searching for a place to stay during our visit to the sequoias. Jennifer was a wonderful host. The horses and their pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) are so friendly! While we were in a couple of the horses' pasture to pet them, we saw a family of wild turkeys running around! We went for a horse back ride before we left and it was a wonderful experience, the dogies even came a long, we got to see them run around the mountain hunting squirrels during our ride!

My family and I had an amazing experience today at Riata Ranch. Make sure to book in advance because they are generally booked up. Our trail guides were very knowledgeable and taught us a lot in regards to comfortably controlling your horse and staying safe on the trail. Our trail ride was beautiful and I fell in love with my horse Troy as he was quite a gentleman. Much love to the Riata Ranch and thank you for an amazing experience.

Wasn't a bad experience but probably won't be back. The route we took was mostly on the neighborhood gravel road in the exposed sun. We very briefly veered next to the nearby creek and took the horses through some wooded trail area, but it was literally 5-mins on the nature trail. The horses and the lady that led our ride were nice. Will probably venture deeper into Sequoia for a nature trail ride next time.

We went on a fantastic trail ride with Jennifer, the owner. My family and I have been on numerous trail rides over the past few years and this one was definitely our favorite. The horses were very sweet and she picked out horses which were appropriate for each of us, especially my son who needs a horse that is patient, bomb-proof, kind and pokey. The horses are not your brain-dead trail horses whose one and only life is making money by packing around people hour-long, every day. Jennifer's horses are all working horses who have other full-time jobs such as being competition horses, vaulting, and so on. Trail riding is only one of the many activities they do to have fulfilling lives as our companions. All of her horses were well maintained, well groomed and in good health and spirits. We went all along her property which is expansive and offers great views of the valley in the foothills leading to Sequoia National Park. The barn is more than an equestrian center - there are cattle, chickens and other animals she is raising. Jennifer is a great, knowledgeable guide who is careful and keeps tabs on her riders, without getting too controlling. It was so reassuring to have an adult out on the trail with us.The barn is active and seems to be a great, positive, supportive community. Kids are learning and practicing vaulting; from what we saw the ratio of instructors to kids was very high and everyone was staying safe while being very engaged. If only we lived closer, we would be regulars and I'd get my son to do vaulting there! At any rate, it's highly recommended.

Took the family for a trail ride. We are all novices and the staff was patient with us and informative. My two kids were very apprehensive at first, but by the end they were feeling very comfortable on the horses. It was a a real confidence builder for them. I would highly suggest this to anyone visiting the area that wants a break from the typical national park attractions.

This was such an amazing place! The horses were very well taken care of and not your average trail ride horse, they were smarter and much more responsive. Jennifer was such a generous host and fun ride guide. She even spent some time with us afterwards giving us a little extra ride time and riding tips. I highly recommend the ranch and hope to make it back in the future!

Had a great experience at Riata Ranch. Jennifer took us out on a trail ride filled with local, unexpectedly rich history. We were joined by her amazing dog all along the way down an old stagecoach trail and former stop for the stagecoach, through a meadow. She let me practice galloping with her coaching since I had a little experience with horses. THE BEST PART was her instruction for my 5-year-old daughter who had no experience with horses prior to this trail ride. It was a great experience for all of us. They were set up for all our needs. Not going to find a more capable instructor or trail riding experience than with Jennifer. Thank you Riata!

Super chill. Beautiful land. A group of 4 of us came for a Sunday trail ride and Jennifer, the lovely owner of Riata Ranch, took us out for a nice, peaceful walk with some of their horses. We want to come back and stay on the property soon!

If I could give more stars I absolutely would. My family and I came to 3 rivers for vacation not realizing that the river and surrounding areas were probably best suited for families with older children that could keep up and appreciate the serene beauty. After deciding that we would not be spending an another $35 to go into the National Park when our children just whined the entire time. (We will return when they are older because it is absolutely beautiful and worth the expense if you and your family can appreciate the beauty). While camping, we met neighbors had recommended Riata Ranch as they had just gone with their family that day. In the morning I called and left a message. Jennifer promptly returned my call and let me know that unfortunately, her schedule was jam packed and she could not accommodate us. But luckily, 10 minutes later, she called back and notified us that she had a cancellation and could see us! Yay!! When we arrived, Riata Ranch was everything we could have dreamed of and more! Jennifer is the sweetest woman and she does it all on her own! I didn't realize that Riata Ranch is an internationally known establishment with a history rich in horse training and showing. My son was scheduled for a beginner lesson, which turned into a trail ride. We felt so comfortable with the staff that we said "take him wherever you want". And they sure did! My son returned so happy and excited with his experience. When checking out, Jennifer mentioned that they were having a cookout later in the evening in anticipation for her birthday and a branding event the following day and invited us. We took them up on their offer and had a wonderful evening getting to know everyone, from staff, to the riding team, family and others staying on the property. We were treated with such hospitality and a sense of family that we left In such awe and admiration for Jennifer and her establishment. I cannot say enough about Riata Ranch and Jennifer. We fully anticipate that we will be back and hope to make Riata Ranch a place that we frequent. Thank you Jennifer and Riata Ranch!
