Rehab Center of Bakersfield

I decided to take a moment to rate this facility solely because I was hesitant for my mother to go here because of the ratings on yelp but I strongly disagree with its rating so it's why I'm rating 5 stars. I think everyone has their own personal experience wherever we go. Some how I followed my intuition when approached by the ladies in admissions and toured the place and met the administrator peand I am thankful I did! They staff welcomed my mother, and let her feel she was in good hands. They were open to suggestions on what she likes dislikes in foods etc... They were caring and attentive to her needs, & which is why I'm taking this moment to write this and say thank you Rehabilitation Center.They told her they wanted this to be her home away from as she got stronger and better with her therapy.My mother was afraid at first being of old age and disappointed not to go home after the hospital but the relief they gave her/me whenever I came to check on her or called her was incredible. She was happy and felt safe. To see this myself I can never thank everyone there enough. They are a strong & dedicated team striving for patients to get better to go home and live their live the best possible. I learned a lot here and we continue to use their teachings on the care of my beloved mother! Thank you so much everyone nurses , Cna's , therapy the entire house there! We sadly only write and take time to review places for the negative but this time I want it to be because I'm glad I chose my mother to go here! Sincerely a daughter who only has this mother left and love her endlessly!

My mom was just transferred there yesterday, 3/18/22 due to Kingston Healthcare unfortunately being shut down. This new place has completely failed her this far! Nobody EVER answers the phone there !!!She's been stuck into some tiny , dirty room. This evening they FORGOT TO FEED HER DINNER!!! So they gave her a very dried up cold piece of chicken and a cold bowl of soup! And now she has been waiting over 20 minutes for someone to come change her and her skin is wet and BURNING!!! I AM REPORTING THIS PLACE TO CMS ON MONDAY!!! AND PERHAPS THE LOCAL NEWS STATIONS NEED TO BE INFORMED ALSO! I know this place has the attitude that she should be "grateful" they accepted her but this does NOT mean she deserves to be neglected and treated this way! They should be ASHAMED!!!!!!!!

My husband was in and out of this facility for several months, prior to his eventual death. These people lost all of his clothes (I had to deliver a whole new set of clothes and some of his lost t-shirts were really nice), his cell phone, and, sadly, his wedding ring. There were only a handful of his caregivers who seemed to really care about his progress, or rather lack of progress. He became unable to answer a bedside phone by himself, and getting hold of someone to help him was very difficult, as phones would ring and ring with no answer.

If you send your loved one here their staff will most likely kill you or send you to the hospital in respiratory distress due to drug overdoses or lack of care. The lady in the room next me screamed like the sister In the attic in the old movie Pet Cemetery by Steven King!!!

Worked here for about 12 mins. Place is a shit show. So unorganized. Patients constantly calling the front desk asking for help because their nurses refuse to help them. They are left with urine, ignored and regularly mis taken care of. When you hire on they say you get 2 10 min breaks and a 30 min lunch. Good luck with that. Zero training. Don't send your family member here. It's a very sad place. If you walk in to a place and they INSTANTLY hire you run!

We were very skeptical about putting our mother there after reading the bad reviews but were so pleased that we did. The place is very clean and my mom is very well taken care of. Any concerns were met and dealt with immediately. They are well staffed and there is always someone there to help.

Unfortunately my mother was a patient in this facility and she wasn't treated the way she should have been. Where should I begin well to start off she's deaf, there were no interpreter available, nurses and social workers were very rude to her when it came to communicating with her. They had no signs on the door nor under her nametag to let people know that the patient was deaf so therefore she missed a lot of meals and missed a lot of the times when the nurses would come because they wouldn't take the time to go check on her like she deserved to have being the fact that she was deaf. I myself had to go down to the center and bring this up with the social workers and the dou and no changes were made. I sent emails to the administrators regarding this issue and never got a email back. My mother wasn't given a bath nor had her hair combed over the two weeks she was there her hair was in really really bad knots I had to have her hair cut once i took her out of this horrible place. I wouldn't advise to put anyone you care about in this facility because they will be neglected and not taken care of.

They don't listen they don't help the clients there are a few nurses that are good but there's most amount they're only worried about the money they don't hear nothing that you say the nurses won't tell you anything and the doctor never comes to see the clients I would not leave my family here again. You know when they're a team of doing nothing right that's what they do they cover up for everybody's doing something wrong so I wouldn't leave my family here

Negatives: no working phone line in the room if you don't have a cell phone with a charger you maybe out of luck.The staff seems very overworked and I had a very difficult time getting anyone to answer the phone at the nurses station and because there is an inoperable phone line in the room it took days to get doctor Appointments and information I needed to do business.Positives: I found the case worker, social worker and therapist very hard working and helpful when I could get ahold them. They were great at reaching out and giving some updates. Unknowns: I will be making a visit next week and post an update on the cleanliness of the facility and my overall in person experience. Not sure that I would recommend this business because I could not get ahold of my family member to help manage his health care.

They admitted my dad a couple of weeks ago. He's been receiving the best care. I was just there last Tuesday visiting from Las Vegas. My older sister and brother live in Bakersfield and they watch after him. I want to thank everyone there for being so kind and hardworking. My father loves how much they care for him and including his roommate. Hopefully he'll be out of there soon. Thank you again!
