Just finished a vacay with family and friends. It's left me with some of the fondest memories that I think I'll ever have. I really have to point out that the place is big and spacious. It was neat and orderly. The ranch was very well maintained, thanks to Jose and any other folks assisting him with the maintenance and upkeep. And to top it off, he had these awesome German Sheps that would follow us around and would watch over us, to ensure our safety. Just amazing I tell ya. So when people ask me what I remember the most about this vacation trip that I took to Redwood Ranch, I don't tell them it's the proposal I did to my girl....nope not that.......I tell them I was followed around for 4 days by 3 German Shepards who wanted nothing more than for me to survive a possible river drowning and/or a heat stroke! So thank you again for providing such a wonderful haven for city-folk like me who need a place to retreat far away from everyone when it's needed. This is definitely the place for it....and something tells me that I will be returning again soon......

I am a local hairstylist in the Visalia area, and just traveled to Redwood Ranch for a wedding this past weekend. It was my first time doing hair here and let me tell you, as a bride , you will not be disappointed. The accomodations are wonderful. The converted barn/living space is perfect for a bridal party to relax and get ready in for the big day! We were getting everyone ready in the upstairs bridal suite , and I couldn't ask for a better room. Everyone was comfortable and the bridal party had enough space to work on centerpieces and any last minute details for the wedding! Loved it and can't wait to come back for another bride

I've stayed at the Redwood Ranch twice now--once in December and for my birthday 10/2-10/5. Both times were magical. It's about a 3 1/2-4 hour drive from LA. The drive is beautiful once you pass the 5 freeway. Make sure you have plenty of gas at all times. Once you get on the 65 gas stations are pretty spread out. The ranch is breathtaking! I promise you will have the most amazing experience! Food/Cooking:There's so much room for cooking with the two kitchens and outside grill. The chickens lay delicious eggs. On my way to the ranch, I stopped at Exeter Meats (about an hour from the ranch) to grab some beef, as we didn't want to leave the ranch while we were there. I don't eat meat, but my guests said it was delicious. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. Andrew provided pretty much everything you need to cook--pots, pans, cutting boards, etc. Environment:You are in the middle of beautiful mother nature, so you should take a moment to educate yourself on the environment and wildlife if you are not familiar with it. Andrew has done an amazing job with the hints along the property--poison oak sign "leaves with three--let them be", arrows guiding you along the hikes, maps of the property, etc. The hike along the property is kid friendly, but be sure to keep an eye on them. Teach them to walk mindfully through the beautiful mountains, and how to approach or not approach certain animals. The ranch is kid friendly, but you can't just let your kids run around with out supervision or teaching them a few things about being in the mountains. The kids that came with us were 2-5 years old. They brought bikes and rode them nonstop around the ranch and fire pit area. Tom the caretaker is great if you have any questions during your stay. Lodging:There is plenty of sleeping space in the ranch. Most of the bedrooms are private. There are a few that are not private, but their website shows you images of them. We didn't have anyone camp outside, but there is plenty of space for camping. The ranch was super clean. The beds/pillows/linens are so comfortable. The bathrooms/showers have nice travel size shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The water pressure on the showers is high! :) We were able to put the kids to sleep and still enjoy the downstairs area, play pool, chit chat and laugh without waking them. Communications and Quality:You can tell Andrew has put so much thought into everything about the ranch. From the decorations, to the booking, answering questions, finding someone to take care of the land, and letting you know all the ins and outs. If you look at their site, it's straightforward with information and photos. The photos do not do the ranch justice and they are beautiful photos, but in person it's just beyond what a camera can capture--the beauty and experiences you can have. Take time to disconnect, be present with the ranch, mother nature, animals, your guests, and yourself. You will not want to leave. :) But you will leave feeling loved and recharged. Thank you Andrew and Eric for creating a lovely space! I can't wait to come back!

This ranch is nothing short of SPECTACULAR -- the most beautiful surroundings you'll ever see. It's breathtaking from the moment you arrive and are greeted by beautiful peacocks. There's a chicken coop from which guests can collect fresh eggs for breakfast. Goats, cows, horses & donkeys roam in various parts of the property. The barn is incredibly inviting and comfortable, with tons of room for large groups. The kitchens (that's right, there are 2!) have everything you'll need and the outdoor BBQ is perfect. Best of all is the river which flows right through the property. It's the most refreshing swim I've ever had and swimming up to the waterfall provides you with a shower like you've never experienced. The owner and caretaker are responsive and friendly. I love it here and look forward to returning. An all around fantastic experience!

This place - how much did our family enjoy the retreat?. Immeasurable. 190 acre ranch - long walks, refreshing swims, repeat makes your blood pressure drop and your eyes gain new perspective, especially at night--who knew the stars were that bright and that many? It's difficult to make that leap of PHOTOS to WHAT WILL THIS PLACE REALLY BE LIKE? but with no hesitation I have to say 5 Stars. Spacious accommodations that have all the modern conveniences. Quiet. Restful. The bonus is service - Andrew was super responsive to any and all needs we had in a timely manner. We're not hyper-maintennance but still, Andrew was THERE. It's a BIG spread. Hit the mark for us and could see it serving similarly for weddings/reunions/ etc Would definitely recommend this place and looking forward to coming back to this Ranch and gaze up at the stars.

The entire facility could use a serious upgrade and/or renovation, including the barn which is not kept sufficiently clean and does NOT sleep 16 people comfortably. Though the wildlife is nice, other aspects of the facility are less than ideal, particularly the cheap furniture and uncomfortable beds. The owner is extraordinarily defensive in response to customer service inquiries (just read the other reviews), and his descriptions of are completely deceptive and exaggerated so he can up-charge his guests.

Just had our wedding here this summer in July! So besides the inevitable heat, it was the perfect place for us to spend our special day and the days leading up to it with our friends and family. Such a beautiful space!!

To say this beautifully maintained and tranquil property is perfect would be an understatement. It has all the amenities you could possibly think of but with a view and immersion in nature that I have never experienced. The management team is very very communicative and the on-site staff made the stay even more memorable.

The Redwood Ranch is nestled along the Keweah in the majestic South Fork Valley. The vibrant, serene valley conveniently borders Sequoia National Park. From the moment you pull in the private, coded, entrance you can't help but admire Andrew's thoughtfulness and attention to detail. From the curated grounds adorned with native plant species, vibrant peacocks, playful donkeys, blank angus cattle, soothing river, and various buildings that blend into the scenery Andrew and his family have truly created a mountain utopia. Upon arrival you will be greeted by Jose (the caretaker) and the three gaurdians (3 of the kindest and most intelligent german shepherds you will ever meet). They will ensure you have anything you need for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The Barn itself is a cozy, clean space that affords you two kitchens. The main kitchen on the ground floor is perfect for cooking for multiple guests while the more private upstairs kitchen is perfect if you want to brew a cup of coffee and take in the misty morning views in the valley. The barn can easily host 16 people but at the same time did not feel too big for our smaller group of 7. Honestly, it would also function as the perfect romantic escape for one or two couples as well. Activities range from walking the 190 acre ranch's private hiking trails, cooking on their custom wood fire bbq, relaxing in the sweat lodge, to cooling off in the river. We spent hours reading outside, listening to the peacocks, and enjoying the shifts in weather. In 4 days we left only once to hike on a trail Andrew recommended. It was an awesome adventure as you can reach Sequoia National Park from a small entrance located right up the road rather than using the park's main entrance and having to fight all the tourist off. The Ranch is also used to host events - it would be a spectacular place to host off-site meetings or weddings. Our group enjoyed this property so much that we made a pact to do a yearly trip here. I also have already invited my family from back east to come out in the fall. The property, people, nature, and architecture will leave asking yourself if it's possible to extend your stay. Andrew is truly a gem of a human, who gave us great tips, a private tour of the homestead, and even brought us fresh produce and cheese to use in our nightly dinners. Please just do yourself a favor and book this place - it will be one of the most memorable places you will stay.
