This was an okay place a little pricey. Butt it was comfortable. Rooms were clean a little out dated.

I'm super annoyed with prior bad review. I would like to give 4 stars to even out the overall score but instead I will just hope people read my review before deciding against this place. I'm glad I checked for myself. If you are familiar with and comfortable staying at the older hotels that aren't nasty but aren't a holiday inn, this place will be just fine. It was clean, seemed updated (carpet, tile, etc). It had an in room fridge and microwave. Toilet was sanitized. No trash can in the bathroom was a little annoying but manageable. Let me warn you about the trains. The tracks are across the street, and if the windows are open (as ours were), it literally sounds like the train is in your room. My husband and I are both very sensitive to uncomfortable beds, and we both slept ok. The deadbolt/door chain was broken which I didn't like. And the woman who checked us in was very nice. Oh yeah, $59ish for 2 beds.

After breaking down in LV, we left late and had a long drive home. We were too tired to continue so we decided to stop at a cheap hotel because who cares, we just need to sleep. Sleep is not what I'm getting, the bed is super cheap and uncomfortable which would be fine but who can sleep with a train that keeps going by and literally sounds like it is going through our room. This place is so outdated, small and not worth $60. I probably would have slept better on the side of the road in my car. Plus side is that I sadly have seen dirtier hotels and although I don't feel like this place is the cleanest, it's not the worst. Avoid this place if your smart!

This motel might win the "Worst Motel in America" award! First, we arrived during a major rain storm and the motel has very dim lights on (aside from the horror movie fluorescent lights along the breezeway), so we could not see the driveway, ending up in a mud field. We just needed a dry, warm, clean place to stay the night plus we had our dog, returning from a camper van trip to Death Valley. In spite of the poor reviews, I prefer funky to corporate, generally! This motel was not funky just sad, drab and very cold!!! The gas heater - one I remember from my childhood in LA - did not work. Given the altitude and snow, heat is essential in fricking Tehachapi! The bed was really basic and really bad, so after dinner we chose to sleep in the camper van! We used the $60/night room basically as a shower. The dirty, gross carpet and horrifically stained chair made me unable to stay in the room for longer than a shower, which was clean but cold. Hit water did arrive, after 5 minutes. Oh - we were the only guests. And there seems to be roofing materials thrown to the ground, just to set the mood!!
