Rainbow Drive-in Express

During my first visit to Rainbow Drive-In Express, prompted by glowing family recommendations, I discovered a place that I would have otherwise overlooked. Located off the beaten path, it's a perfect example of how effective word-of-mouth advertising can be.The drive-through setup was a bit unconventional but functional. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a friendly voice over the speaker. I mentioned it was my first time there and needed a moment to review the menu. The staff member was both gracious and helpful, making the ordering process smooth.I decided to try something unique and opted for the Ortega green chili burger with a side of fries and a large Pepsi. As a devoted Coca-Cola fan, it felt slightly disloyal, but Pepsi was the available option. The food was hot, fresh, and made to order, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The Ortega green chili burger was a delightful departure from the usual offerings at other burger joints.Although I didn't go inside or use their tables due to time constraints, the exterior of the restaurant appeared clean, and the staff who handed us the food were friendly and well-presented.Living 25 to 30 miles away means I might not be able to visit as often as I'd like, but I definitely plan to return. Rainbow Drive-In Express offers a refreshing twist on the standard drive-in experience, and the quality of both the food and service makes it well worth the trip.

So the other day we had a craving for some soft serve, what better place to go than a mom and pop burger shop right!? Well... that answer is more like a "yes and no." I would say definitely yes, just not from here.4 stars goes to the sweet lady who took our order and even chatted with us at the window while she got our soft serve. Here's the thing; this isn't really soft serve.It was more like a mix between ice cream and shaved ice. That was the consistency this had. Props to her for making it look beautiful and topping it with a generous amount of whipped cream.Pro Tip: they don't have chocolate anymore! Just vanilla and strawberry.I would still come here for the burgers, fries and drinks. But not for the ice cream. Soft serve is better even at McDonald's if I'm being honest.

I have nothing but good things to say. They are always nice and food is always so good. Whenever I come down to visit family I try to stop by. They have never failed and always strive to be the best.

My wife and I have been eating here for several years. We especially love their burgers and the Cherry Pepsi. In fact, my wife is addicted to the Cherry Pepsi and I'm addicted to the burgers!!

Service was friendly but burger, fries, and shake were average. Nothing wrong with it, but wouldn't go out of my way.

I really enjoy getting the pastrami burger from here. It always tastes delicious and the size is perfect. The fries were nice and fresh too with them being the perfect crisp. Some times it can take a little while for them to get the food out but it is worth it. I also feel like the price is pretty standard, not overly priced.

Not bad. Food was ok. Was hoping it would be like an old school burger place but it wasn't. I got a cheese burger, onion rings, corn dog and vanilla coke. I was charged extra for sauces for onion rings that weren't given to me. Service was ok. Prices were reasonable.

The pastrami sandwich was good. The bread wasn't wet feom the pastrami like at other places I have tried.

NOT as good as the one on Mooney! The burgers use a different onion and the bread is stale. Go to the Mooney one and don't waste your money on the express!

We came to get our windows tinted, and the guy recommended eating here. We will be returning, food was great, and staff was very friendly.
