The only adequate word to describe this restaurant is DELIGHTFUL! From the ambiance to the staff to the stellar food! The offerings are made with professionalism and pride. Lebanese chicken was amazing. I have been back three times and I don't even like sandwiches that much... the Muff, The Jane. All unique and beyond tasty. This is a you can't miss it kind of place! Run don't walk!

This was one of the best recommendations I've received! Every once in a while, I'm downtown for work and need suggestions. My colleagues highly suggested this freshly made, cool vibes, friendly place! The employees are amazing and friendly. All food is delicious, especially the freshly made chips. The vibe is right and the feelings right, this place is super chill. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back!

I was looking for a place I hadn't tried before in the downtown area when Radio Sandwich popped up on the Yelp app. What's this?, I thought, the 1200 block of 19th St? Sounds sketchy. I'm in.This is a part of downtown that was once filled with pawn and porn shops. But, it's businesses like Radio Sandwich that are moving to make a positive change. You step inside the door and it's a little like going back in time. A simple order counter, menu at the center, surrounded by quaint little seating areas.I chose the turkey Cubanito and a side of potato chips. The chef makes the chips fresh and you can add a seasoning. Service was quick. A very flavorful sandwich, The Cubanito filled me up. The walls have art from local artists. It's easy to see Radio Sandwich is interested in the community. On the table was a flyer for the Blue Zone project, a movement to help people live longer.Oh, and I rarely recommend bathrooms, but this one is very colorful and interesting. It adds a little charm to the entire experience. If you haven't tried Radio Sandwich downtown, you've got to give it a try!

Tasty sandwiches Very cute storefront Located downtown I went mid afternoon, not too busy so service was quick. I was taking my sandwich to go so didn't stay to eat there, next time I will definitely stay to dine in.

Came here while shopping downtown for Second Saturday. The workers were so nice and helpful and the counter is so fun with items in acrylic. It reminded me of an Eye Spy book. I ordered a half sandwich and side special. My sandwich was very good on Pyrenees bread and their vinaigrette dressing. The sour cream and onion chips though, Amazing! I highly recommend supporting this small business in downtown Bakersfield.

Great sandwiches, great staff, and a fantastic atmosphere! Those who dine in get to take advantage of shared study space, book store shelf featuring local authors, or open mic events. It's a small space but manages to create a great sense of community. Creative, tasty offerings - generous with the vinaigrette - and prompt service especially at off-peak times.

Chef Miriam & her crew make some of the best sandwiches on the planet. I was thinking today after an amazing Heirloom tomato on a curry oil toasted homemade bread with sunflower seeds, light homemade horseradish mayo & fresh basil, that Radio Sandwich has created 3 out of my five favorite sandwiches ever. Only Brent's Deli in LA & the fiery Howlin Rays Hot Chicken can also claim spots. The revolving specials rock. In addition to the Heirloom, my favorites included the Gorgeous Gouda, a grilled gouda with butternut squash, red curry & basil that was a perfect panang on a sandwich and the 18th Street Ruben, a perfectly balanced ruben with Swiss cheese, sharp Dijon and a house slaw, though my favorite is off menu with homemade sauerkraut when available. The perfectly balanced and unique flavors result in truly gourmet sandwiches The pics include the Heirloom and the recently added Dustbowl, a thick sliced high quality bologna with house made potato chips, black pepper mayo & arugula. A sandwich reminiscent of my childhood, but better.

A little hideout easy menu and served fresh. They have false advertisements, and I say that because I saw the sandwich I ordered on their google page, and what was shown wasn't what I got. The sandwich was really good, though. The Pb&j with bacon sandwich needed some more jelly, and I think if they used crunch peanut butter, it would hit different as in it would take the sandwich to a different level The sandwiches are a tad expensive for the size you receive, but I'm guessing you're paying more for the party in your mouth, and it's well worth it. I definitely enjoyed the sandwiches, and I will return to try something else. Maybe they surprise me, and I change their 4 stars to a whole 5 stars. Overall, it is a very laid-back atmosphere, chill serves, and wait time to eat is pretty fast for the freshness of the sandwich.

A really great sandwich spot in Bakersfield. Not a big menu, but I ordered a truly tasty Muff. Short for Muffuletta, they surround a couple pieces of provolone cheese with a bunch of slices of cured meat. The thick house-made sesame bread is painted with their olive mix and cherry red pepper mayo. You should absolutely dive into this sandwich. This muff is for men and women equally. It was a high ratio of bread to meat, but the bread was so good. One person on Yelp wrote about eating a Sloppy Muff... wonder exactly it is and if they still make that off-menu? Next time I'm driving on the 5 or 99, I'm making a brief detour for a Muff stop.

I checked out this cute little sandwich shop. I was greeted and given a menu to look over. I had some questions about some of the sandwiches and ended up going with the dust bowl which is a fried bologna sandwich with black pepper mayo, crunchy chips and arugula inside, I opted out of the arugula. The sandwich was good, a little spicy. It also had a heavy vinegar taste, which I'm not sure why. The mac and cheese was delicious. I'll be back to try the other sandwiches. It's definitely a cute vibe here.
