Small old time bakery size of one tiny room. Baked fresh!
I bought one French bread and one sliced loaf.
They sell full loaves French bread. Looked fake, but actually real bread on display case below

I grew up eating Pyrenees bread and knew I needed to get the sourdough pull apart rolls for Thanksgiving this year. The grocery store I shop at doesn't carry them. So I went to the real Pyrenees store to get them. I had never been to the store. Such a homey friendly place. I controlled myself and got only the rolls, but they had so many other bread choices. I will visit again for other items. Totally worth it! Super affordable, too!

I always like to try old establishments to see how their food tastes like. Yes this is a bit out of the way from the main road into the warehouse district area of Bakersfield. This place is across from the fire house station which is a small building as well but not as small as this tiny bakery that is only one room size. I was only car parked in front of the bakery. Don't worry plenty of parking since these streets are not busy with cars on a Saturday afternoon. Only one person inside. I read online they been making sourdough bread for years and I wanted to pickup a loaf. Their hours are limited so all the $3 day old bread shelf was empty. Other shelf has other breads displayed like multigrain bread and wall of photos. In front of me was a nice painting on the wall and some other rolls on the counter. In the glass case were some French bread loaves that to me looked fake or plastic, but the girl said it's real bread. So for the fun of it I asked to buy that and the sliced sourdough bread to go. I paid cash. When I got to my final destination in Las Vegas, I tried the bread. Even though it label itself as sourdough, it's not sour like a sourdough like that in San Francisco. But it's fresh and dense and nice bread made by mom and pop type of store. I think I found quite a number of unique places in Bakersfield since my years traveling through this city on to Las Vegas such as Dewars candy ice cream is a truly unique gem. Crumbl and Handels are nice as well.

We were taking a drive-in an area the other day and came across this pyrenee's bakery that has been there for so many years but we had never known that it was even there. So we decided to pull into the parking and go inside and take a look we made a choice of a couple of their breads they have for sale inside. We spoke to the sales person inside about the bakery. It's just a surprise to us that this spot was even at this location, we had never known. So if you're in the area and you'd like to pick up some fresh pyrenees bread go ahead and stop in and make your selection we do recommend it, because we always enjoy their bread. Now we know the location so we can go straight to the bakery to make our purchase instead of having to go down to the store. No fresher way to get it.

The location is in an area with a few homeless lounging around bit I had to try it since I was in Bakersfield. I bought the sweet dough French bread. I brought it home and immediately warmed one up. It was so fresh, soft, and yummy. I would definitely go there again. Yummy.

Pyrenees sourdough bread is the best! All of my favorite Bakersfield restaurants serve Pyrenees bread and it was a huge part of my childhood. My favorite way to eat it is a slice with butter and salsa-heavenly! We always pick up a few loaves when we visit Bakersfield and if I lived here it would be on my weekly shopping list! Just a tip-bring cash-no credit or debit cards accepted.

Great bread, the only reason they get less than five stars, is their limited hours they are open. But, that said, they are well-worth scheduling yourself to get there during the hours they ARE open. All of their breads are fantastic, friendly staff, and a great value!

This is a small store where you can buy fresh breads. Apparently, this company is more of a wholesaler, as they provide fresh bread to numerous stores and restaurants in the Bakersfield area. At this store, they offer these fresh breads which you can purchase right there. There's a limited variety of breads and that's all they offer. It's not a full service bakery with cakes, pastries and the like. However, the breads are absolutely delicious, so if you're in the area and like fresh bread, this is the place.
