Pyramid Lake Recreation Area/Los Alamos Campground

Always recommend this beautiful lake! Easy and affordable to rent a boat with 80 dollars and have fun for 2 hours!

Although I've passed Pyramid Lake dozens of times in my life, this was my first time at Pyramid Lake. It is huge with plenty of parking! It looked as if there was only one loading dock, though, but big enough for maybe 3 boats at a time to get in the water or got out of.There are spots at Pyramid Lake only accessible through boat. There were many places that someone could anchor their boat and fish or be alone.There were a few bathrooms we counted, including a bathroom in the middle of the lake. No toilet seat covers, but there was toilet paper, just BRING hand sanitizer! The water to me didn't look very see-through or clean, but there wasn't any visible algae.Pyramid Lake is a wonderful place to take out your boat and go fishing or just relax and tan. The breeze was nice, and there were plenty of shady areas.

It was gorgeous, great for boat rides and fishing. The water is clear, and surprisingly had bathrooms floating in areas which is great. However swimming in the water , I did notice a few pieces of toilet paper. Made me hesitate. You can tell they were fresh due to them not being dissolved. But other than that, I had such a nice time. The sheriffs were kind yet out of the way.

Nice place to camp if you're driving I5. Some cool campsites tucked into trees. Cheap, too.

Camp Ground: The camp group are full of tall weeds. No maintenance at all? No office or staffs nearby if there is any issue or emergency.Only restrooms, no shower facility. Recreation Area: Open till 7pm.You can bring in your own boat. There are jet ski, paddle board & kayak activities (with fees)They do charge parking $15.There are picnic area, table, chair & BBQ grill (little bit of outdated).

This is such a fantastic setting and can't believe I've driven past it all these years! Looking forward to seeing the Perseus meteor shower in mid August here!

So I went out here today with my friend and to be honest with you I took pictures so you can see kind of what it looks like it's a nice drive if you want no one around you. there's not many drivers on the road once you get towards the lake and the other thing is there's no trees at all, there's bugs all around if you get close to the water but that's normal when you're close to water so if you're like not a bug person make sure you bring repellent.The fishing is good l watched a guy catch a fish right next to me.The boat people are fishing all around and seems to be having a lot of fun and if you enjoyed boating this will be the perfect place for you to go it's calm quiet relaxing I would say all around it's a great place to take your family as long as you don't want trees around you.

I was trying to go on an adventure with family. As a first timer heading to the lake, I had a horrible experience rude staff and the sheriff at the first boating location was rude and should keep his comments to himself. I left so quick never going back.

How could you not love this place? It's away from the city and a world away from all the hustle and bustle. Rented boat at Rental place and everyone was super cool. Definitely going back.

Could be nice but doesn't seem upkept during off season (not summer). Not dirty but def could use more maintenance. No soap (or soap dispensers) in the bathrooms.
