The food here is amazing! The staff was the absolute nicest. They were also knowledgeable about allergies and so very helpful and thoughtful. The prices were reasonable as well. I highly recommend a trip here. Good people and good food!

Living up to it's name, this place is a hole in the wall road side Punjabi restaurant in Bakersfield, CA. Located in an unassuming location, this place has some of the most authentic Punjabi found I've tried. We stopped here after a long road trip for dinner, so we were all very hungry. At first, I was a bit skeptical given it's location. The first thing that stood up to me how warm and welcoming the family who runs this place is. They were kind and walked us through the menu and what they recommend. It felt like we were eating in a local neighbor's home, we were treated with such hospitality. The food itself is great; good value for the price, and the quantities are large. Don't let the location fool you; this place is a hidden gem that one must try when in Bakersfield (particularly if you are on a long road trip, this place will hit the spot).

Driving into the area where my husband was directing me to go... I was very hesitant! Drive through this cyclone fencing next to this abandoned restaurant. Are you sure ??? I am glad I did!! We saw the set up and it looks much more inviting by their setup. We ordered chili chicken it was tasty and kind of sweet. The garlic naan was delicious. We ordered samosas but they were quite different from what we were used to. These samosas had yogurt, chickpeas, red onions and cilantro on them. They were delicious. We had a side of rice that had very good flavor. They gave us some rice pudding that had a nice delicious flavor. We will definitely go again.

Really solid food but super chaotic and a long wait. We ended up going here on Memorial Day. The line was long and moving very slowly. Took about 30 mins to get our food. They do have indoor seating but you order at the truck and then find a place to sit - it was chaotic to say the least. That said, the food was incredible. Probably one of the best dhaba food I've had in the US. We got the chana masala, dal makhani, shahi mattar paneer - they were all very above average. The paratha and tawa roti were amazing as well. Would go again but would not brave it during peak hours.

I would visit again when near Bakersfield going to from the Bay area to San Diego. It's a food truck with authentic home-cooked food. Dishes are 13-16$ not cheap (thanks to inflation) but the food is good. There is a low-key seating area where you can eat and take-away containers. I got the Chole and Chicken Masala - amazing. Dal Malabo not so good. I would go there again.

Food is great. Somewhat limited options. It is basically a food truck but they have a large covered patio with tables and benches to sit and eat. A couple of outdoor picnic benches as well. We have to order, pay (cash only), and pick up our food at the truck. We have to pay for water. It was a bit difficult to find in the dark. They only have a porta-potty for restroom. So, it is a bit disappointing when you stop during a road trip.

So happy they got this new location in town they've been working on for a while. They've been kind of a hidden gem truck stop spot for years, first on union then down the 5 off pumpkin center, now finally home in the heart of Bakersfield. No exaggeration to say it's the best punjabi food in the whole state.
