Always a great time at Prime Desert. Great walking trails and birds, hairs, hawks, lizards, and an occasional coyote.

Beautiful trail but since it's a preserve, one of the hikers sadly told me that there are no dogs allowed. This is done to make sure the ecosystem there isn't disrupted. Regardless, I wanted to at least take one loop before I found out and had to bring the pups back home (don't worry, I picked up after my pup!). There are multiple loops and you can probably easily get lost but there are plentiful maps around the trail as well as informational signs of the animals/plants that are part of that habitat in the area. Plenty of beautiful Joshua trees and overall very well maintained. There are also plenty of free parking in the lot over in the front area which was nice! We also came here around 7:30am so the trail was open but the informational center was not.

I visited twice. The first time was to find a geocache. I came back because I wanted to see the Joshua trees in evening light. Stunning. There is a small nature center and several miles to walk on well-maintained trails. They may even be ADA compliant, but you'd better confirm that if you need it. I visited in mid'June and thw evening walk was not too hot. The foll9wing morning was actually sweater weather, which means walking in the m9rning would good too.

Jan 2023/After attending an Art opening in Lancaster, nearly everyone met up with the Artist at Prime Desert Woodland Preserve! She walked us through the desert describing how the surroundings & nature had inspired her work! Picture This: What a wonderful view! There is something very magical about seeing Joshua Trees, as well as walking along the peaceful trail & seeing pieces of art from other artists as well along the way, just existing in nature! The beauty of it all has the ability to ignite & excite the imagination; it was wonderful hearing her stories!Mindful Snacks: Imagine my surprise to see that amongst the artifacts inside & inspirational quotes on the walls, there were snacks inside! Who knew there was Raspberry Hibiscus Sparkling Water in a can! Though I'm not into sparkling water, I had to try it & the flavor turned out to be quite refreshing! Plus, the can was really pretty, decorated w/hibiscus flowers! Cookies were also amongst the goodies, as well as yummy trail mix... perfect, after walking along the trail!Overall: Fun experience, incredibly friendly people working there who were fun to talk to & the scenery was serene! I would visit again & did I mention the sunset?! Gorgeous!

What a Great place to walk! The Prime Desert Woodland Preserve was a great spot for the hubs and I to take a walk. The scenery was beautiful with several desert plants, we even got to see a couple rabbits! The path was clean all the way around and I loved that there were bridges and benches throughout where you could take pictures.Really our only negative was there were some people trying to sell some pies and blocking one of the entrances. We will definitely be back Happy walking Yelpers!
