Poppi's Pastrami & More

Tried this place when I was at a football game. The food was okay though not super warm and lacked flavor. Also it was overpriced. A pastrami hot dog and a bag of chips was $14 and a loaded nachos with chicken was $18. The staff was friendly though and the truck is cute. Probably wouldn't get anything because I don't think that what you get is what you pay.

I had the pastrami sammich during boots in the park, and ever since then my wife and I have longed for it. We have searched bakersfield high and low and the other pastrami is not that great. We happened to be driving to BevMo and spotted Poppi's hanging in front of Copps. It looked oddly familiar, and then it hit me! The pastrami truck! For some reason the first time around I could not find them online. We got a sandwich each. Great briskit, on a nice soft roll. Very tasty and tender with pickles, onions and mustard. It was great, but I remember it being better at the concert. I could have sworn it had like a house made chipotle mayo or something unique on it. Anyways, still a killer sandwich. The only downside is the price. $44 for two sandwiches is pretty steep so definitely not an every week for me. Be sure to call to find out where they are at that day. Sometimes on verdugo and sometimes in front of Copps.

I had my first pastrami after hearing about it and seeing the big red catering truck. It was perfect. It had moist tender morsels of pastrami topped with chopped sautéed onions, sliced pickles and a drizzle of mustard on a fresh hoagie. I'll try the chicken next time! Worth my time!

It is good and I would go back...BUT...the roll was steamed, not toasted, the pastrami was garden variety, not artisan, and the sandwich was about $15 which seems pricey for the quality and quantity of food you get. Having said all that, the roll was fresh, the meat thin sliced, and lean. I would go back if was to see it at a festival or market, but I wouldn't seek it out like I was in a mission for the best pastrami in town

love her pastrami burgers !! extra pickles and mustard .... every single bite just melts in ur mouth ! enjoyable with a bag of chips but if she had her tator tots back or with french fries even better !!!! but im am more than happy with just the pastrami burger . no matter what price or the drive , it is worth it ! no pics because i always forget to once i get my hands on it lol

Absolutely ridiculous prices, and the lady who runs it is just a terrible person. Don't let her fool you on how this business came to be. She didn't earn it I'll tell you that. She claims to be from a family of restauranteurs.... nope. Total liar.

We got a pastrami sandwich, 2 drinks, and a bag of chips and it was 37.00. The sandwich was nothing special and didn't have very much h meat in it. Disappointing pastrami sandwich.

I have had the pastrami and it is good. I have wondered why they charge $20 for a sandwich now I know they think they are special. They are especially rude. They park for an extended amount of time, in the pickup and go spot at the grocery store to go in to shop. These spots are limited and meant for the online pickup orders. Doesn't represent the company well.
