I have used both locations in Bakersfield for both RV storage and property storage. Their prices are lower but their locations are new, clean, and clearly secure. I never have had a single problem with the locations, units, or staff. The Rosedale location has nice staff and they patrol around pretty good. They aren't intrusive, and have good payment options and discounts. I'll keep using them as long as they are close by. Great operation and good staff. They also have tape, boxes, locks, and other stuff you might need. Just stop by the office and get what you need.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!IF THERE IS LESS THAN NO STAR, THAT WOULD BE MORE SUITED.Date of incident: 4/18/24I and my assistant arrived at the Payless Mini Storage facility between 3pm to 4pm. Our purpose is to move items out as much as we can from Storage unit 522. A buyer for the items who followed us and came around 5:00pm. A buyer who just had a surgery a couple of weeks prior and her assistant came.I left the facility at around 5:30pm as I had to catch a Bus going back home. The buyer and another woman were left there waiting for the truck with a trailer.I called the Buyer around 7:20pm and this is the time I learned that the Buyer went outside the gate before 7:00pm and her assistant was left inside with No phone.The buyer told me that Payless Mini Storage employee told them 10 minutes before 7:00pm that they need to be out of the business facility no later than 7:00pm, otherwise they have to pay $400.00.MY COMPLAINS:1) If they have a Hard Policy that All customers need to be out the gate at exactly 7:00pm, they should have a Sign posted in the Facility of such Policy and/or have someone announced via microphone and speakers to be heard by everyone giving the customers enough time and notice to leave by 7:00pm. I took pictures and videos of the Gate, windows and door of the office, driveways, storage units frontages and of All the signs they have everywhere. THERE IS NO SIGN posted regarding this Policy. Their argument is I signed a contract with that Clause. Yes, I signed the Contract back in October 2023. However, as a normal business operation, I work with people who did not see the Contract. It is their responsibility to make everyone who enter their business facility to make them informed of their Policies and Rules just like any other Stores, Offices and business establishments. Even driving on the Freeways and Roads , the Speed Limit rule is posted in every certain distance. They gave me 8 Pages stack of Papers in October 23, 2023 when I opened Storage unit 522. The page with the clause regarding the $400.00 fine after 7:00pm if still inside the facility is on Page 7. This is beyond reasonable that they expect me to relay this Policy / rule to my staff/assistant/ buyer after several months. To me, this is a trap for them to make outrageous amount of money for No value/consideration provided.2) The Account was under my name. It is just a good judgement and business practice that they should have called me at the moment of this incident. I have never heard a word from anyone in this Business organization. Very BAD Communication and BAD Customer service.3) Their employee locked herself in the office after 7:00pm. She also locked the Gate. No one was able to either went out nor went in. No one answered the phone call after 7:00pm. She is aware of one person inside the facility and one person outside the gate. This is a major neglect of their responsibility. Should anything happened to these two people, this business should have been responsible. 4) They charged my card for $410.00 which is $10.00 more than what is stated on the Contract. The contract stated $400.00 per hour or part of an hour used. They did not provide a proper Invoice with proof showing the Actual time used. Again, an Overcharge for No Value/consideration provided.5) They also argued that NO other person disputed this Charge. They have a very Deceiving business practice by having the Customer signed a contract with clauses buried amongst the fine prints and pages to unreasonable trap customers money. Most people just take the lost and moved on with the busy life rather than losing more time to file a complain. 6) I tried calling several times and asking to speak to the Business Owner. It did NOT go anywhere. This is the worst Customer Service I have ever encountered in my years of doing business.

Under my name it says Orlando FL. I don't know who put that there but I'm in Bakersfield Ca. Never even been to Orlando. Don't be fooled by the security cameras, chances are there wont be any play back to look at by the time you realize something is missing from your storage. When you trust your stuff is safe with an onsite live in manager, you should not have to pay an outrageous fee to look at the footage either. They have all the advantage and they know it. Im still sick that all my family heirlooms and heritage was taken by people who so easily get away with it. I do have proof but statue has run out.

I used to be satisfied with my parking space & storage unit but it went bad. I was courtesy called to renew the storage space. The employee confused the storage & parking spaces. I found out their error when I showed up vacate my trailer off the parking space. They charged me by the book and there was no concession for their mistake. It probably cost me an extra $50 and unnecessary frustration. I am out of there as soon as my storage unit balance is used up.
