This bar constantly has new untrained and low work ethic barmaids.I had one stealing money from me. I didn't know until her young sister came in and I heard her tell her.The last time I was there I went in to order food to take home and have a Corona while I waited. There was one couple sitting at the bar and a few people playing pool. I sat at the small bar for a good ten minutes I waved at the barmaid she was obliviously ignoring me. One of the pool players walked over and she said " another beer?" This is 15 minutes after I sat at an almost empty bar with her six feet away from me waving at here saying " Can I get a beer and order some food?" She finally came over with an attitude... I ordered the Special on the Board a Patty Melt. I have a hiatal hernia my stomach is the size of a golf ball so I don't order anything with a lot of bread. I got the beer finally n told her my order was to go. She brought me my food WHICH I PAID and I PAID for two Coronas I had not finished my first yet. I got my Corona n opened my food to get a couple fries n it was a hamburger with a thick bun. I told her I ordered a Patty melt. She looked at me with the same attitude and replied "I don't know how to make a Patty melt!!! I told her what it was she said so do you want one in a nasty manner like it was my fault" I said no I dont I don't I don't know what you'll do to it".. then Eric the owner who had come said to me " That's it your 86'd!!!.. he was trying to impress his young cute brand new barmaid or maybe because I pushed off his advances before. He said "YOUR OUT OF HERE"! I said " I'm drinking my beer" which I hadn't taken a sip from. He came across the bar saying "no you are not" and grabbed me physically by my upper arms which were bruised up the next day. I said give me my money back he said no you're out of here. I'm a 60 year old 5'2" female that bought my home here 20 years ago. It was during lunch hours I was totally sober. I was rudely treated by the barmaid then insulted, and abused by the owner Eric and ripped off for $20.00The service and treatment he gives to his customers that live and own homes here it's a wonder this arrogant narcissistic is still in business. He owes me at least $20 and a big apology. I would never step foot in the again not as long as he is the owner.

A little Gem of a dive bar, tucked away in the corner of a strip mall next to the freeway.Nice staff, cold beer, and decent bar food cooked right there at the bar. A very entertaining group of regulars round out the package.

I have visited this establishment for over 20 years. Used to be a sure thing to run into an old friend or 2. Since the new owner/manager took over, the food is horrible. Actually I would say toxic. Though never tested, Upon drinking 1-2 glasses out of their bottled wine It was obvious that it had been tainted with something that intensified the effect of the beverage which I have never experienced before. The owner is quite rude & too touchy. Can someone please buy this place & return it to what Pauls place used to be?

A great small town bar. Beer is very cold, the staff is always friendly and the hamburgers are outstanding!I highly recommend trying it. I know folks that drive down from AV just to go to Pauls. It is worth it. If you want a fancy dinner or an uptown bar, then drive down to SCV. But if want cold beer and a great burger in a friendly environment. Then Paul's is the place.

Five stars.. my new watering hole. Owner is dog friendly. People in the area are a tad sketchy but nothing a fat lip doesn't fix

It used to be a good place for locals to go to about a year ago, we went in there recently and we had a 1/2 cooked raw burger with frozen lettuce then we were told to leave at 9:00pm on a Friday night . We wont be going back anytime soon. We would rather go next door to Don Chato at least the food is cooked , they serve hard alcohol and the staff is friendly ..

Best burgers and fries in town!!! Smoked TriTip sandwiches aren't bad either. Beers are the coldest around. Friendly bartenders...Music, shuffle board and pool table.

I can't believe this place is still in existence!!! My boyfriend and I decided to go there a couple of nights ago and, I've lived in this town a long time and I cannot believe the things I see going on there not to mention the unsanitary conditions in the place! How it has an "A" rating I do not know! There were cockroaches on the floor, the cooking area was a complete disaster, the bartenders there (on more than one occasion) we witnessed getting really drunk and drinking hard alcohol along with the patrons, mind you this is a BEER and WINE bar. We also witnessed them serving underage people there that we know from around town and letting them drive home when they could barely walk. Outside they all blatantly smoke marijuana. And the homeless and degenerates around town flock to this place and surrounding businesses. Something really needs to be done to clean up this mess, maybe report it to someone I don't know!!!
