The first time I tried their pasta was for a Yelp event and it was pretty good. If I'm looking for a fast cheap pasta dish I usually go to Olive Garden, but Pasta Bowls is right up there too. Give them a chance! Don't pass them up! If I never tried their pasta because of the event, I probably would never have even come regularly, but they usually give out free pasta for you to try here and there if you follow them on IG.If you have a limited time during lunch, I don't recommend going. They have made the girls at work late from coming back several times, but I do know they let you order ahead of time so if you know you have limited time then you better order in advance. If you haven't tried them yet for their pasta, you need to come check it out. Yes, it's not a typical Italian spot and they sell biria here, but the pasta is pretty good and they don't skimp. Spice level is pretty good too, and what other place in town has a drive-thru pasta place?

What an interesting find in Bakersfield! You definitely shouldn't sleep on this place, it's unassuming and honestly a little weird as it's a joint pasta shop & taco stop. Normally that combination doesn't sound like it would mix but by coincidence we were craving pasta and the local Italian chain had a line out of the door so we turned to trusty Yelp to help us find an alternative pasta option. This spot had good enough reviews so we said we'd try it.Initially I was expecting this spot to be a proper restaurant but we were thrown off a little bit when we parked as we noticed there was one sign for Pasta Bowls and another sign for Taco Bros coming from the same building. Also there was a drive thru?! lol what is going on here?! I'm actually thankful we were too lazy to look for another spot as we went in to see what this place was all about. When we opened the door you're immediately hit by a tiny entrance area with menu boards and a counter. What I thought was a restaurant was really just a small entrance that maybe only five people could stand inside and you order at the counter. A little peculiar but hey, we were hungry and admitted that the menu looked pretty fire. They had pictures of all of the pasta options which was honestly really helpful and sealed the deal with me wanting to stick to pasta. The bigger menu though was actually all of your Mexican classics like tacos, burritos, and tortas. No pictures but an easy menu to follow. The gal working the register was super nice and helpful. We told her it was our first time and she was eager to help. She told us their pastas were definitely all good but that their most popular items are the birria tacos. I actually love birria tacos but knowing I was going to be in the car for a while I went with a safer bet. Regardless though I appreciated how patient the gal was with us and how friendly she was. Nice people work here and they have a lot going on between managing the register and the drive thru!I ordered the creamy pesto Alfredo pasta with chicken. A solid 4 stars for a causal over the counter pasta joint. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was much more flavorful than I expected. Pretty tasty. The chicken was okay, not much flavor but a good protein. My friend got their lunch special which came with three tacos, rice, beans, and a drink. She was super thrilled with her tacos and complimented that everything tasted good. Prices are average, about $15 bucks for pasta and an Agua Fresca. Not bad. Just note you do have to sit outside, no indoor seating as you only order inside. There were about six tables outside and they call your name over the speakers to go back inside to pick it up. The ambiance isn't really there because you're eating outside alongside a super busy and loud main road but thankfully tables were far enough away that it was safe, just noisy. For a casual spot this does the trick and was a pleasant surprise, just not a spot I'd crave or go out of my way for.

Drive thru review only!!!!Line in drive thru was pretty quick, I checked in on Yelp, so I did get a free pepsi :). Pasta was very good. Whenever I'm in the mood for pasta again and I dont want to go to a sit-down restaurant heck yes I'm going to come here. I really wanna taste their spaghetti. Their fettuccine and chicken were soft, very good flavor, and it filled me up.

What can I say about this place. Have been here before and will continue to be back. This time tried the Cajun penne pasta and also ordered a side of beans and rice. Food was great as usual and service was excellent and another great thing about this place is they have a drive up which makes it convenient. If you are anywhere near the mall off Ming Ave stop by and give them a try. Won't be disappointed.

First timer! Eating my feelings! Let's goooo. Even though this establishment is on the other side of town, once I remembered that it exists and I haven't had the pleasure of a drive through pasta experience I was down for the mini road trip. When eating my feelings, no expense is spared and carbs are ideal. The reviews I read beforehand had my mouth set for the spicy penne with blackened chicken. I was truly torn between this and the fettuccine alfredo but stuck with my original plan. The team member who took my order was sweet & offered up a small sample cup of pineapple aguas fresca while I waited (not long). It was so crisp and refreshing with just the right amount of pineapple sweetness. Very yum & highly recommended. The drive thru is clean and pleasant with plants and beautiful yellow lantana bushes, which attract butterflies. I have some at home too. Lovely. The container which held my food smelled heavenly and was piping hot when the order was served up-we were off to a great start. I was pleased with the aesthetic of the pasta upon opening the wonderful container and unleashing the experience. Check my photo and see for yourself. The chicken was more or less blended in and not like the picture but I didn't really mind that too much. The sauce was thick, consistent, tasty and spicy! Take care when ordering this specific dish if you are sensitive to heat. That said, it was deeeeeeelicious. The mushrooms gave a nice texture and flavor and even after reheating the sauce didn't break. This is big, folks. There is enough for 2 people in my opinion and due to that fact the price makes sense. There was a piece of buttered bread/toast which was good- it wasn't white bread thank G- but focaccia would have been dynamite. All in all, I want to thank the owners and operators of Pasta Bowls for making one of my dreams come true and bringing the first and only drive thru pasta joint to Bakersfield. I sure hope you stay a while.

Took my daughter out for lunch and went through the drive thru and ordered the Marinara Ravioli and Chicken Fettucine Alfredo. The chicken fettucine Alfredo was piping hot and instantly was hit with a delicious garlic smell. The alfredo was in creamy and incredibly flavorful with garlic and parsley. The chicken was very soft and easily could use my plastic fork to seperate. The bread was a nice surprise and I used to soak up all the delicious sauce. I was excited to try out the pasta as last time I was on a keto diet and ate the Southwest salad which was very delicious as well. Will return again!

Thoroughly annoyed at their drive-through situation. They have a two-lane drive-thru, however, it always seems that they struggle to prioritize who came first in the drive-thru. I came to order and was asked to wait while another person who came after me in the other lane was able to order and get in front of me. It is very frustrating when you arrive first but yet someone gets to order before you. Pasta is good but they need better management of their drive-thru or they need to have only one lane open. I hope they make some changes because this isn't the first time for me. This is a huge turn off for customers.

I think the pasta bowls are fantastic! Considering the price and getting pasta from a drive-through, I can definitely say I am impressed. I love that there are several options. I personally love the simple spaghetti, but the Alfredo was excellent as well. I had a little seasoning at home to spruce it up.The cashiers are friendly every time I come through, and I appreciate the low-key vibe of the place. I think it's a great option for someone looking for cheap but not terrible American Italian food.

Service was great went to the their new location by the Chevron gas station. We were greeted by the owner/chef and was very friendly which even gave us a sample. We ordered the Cajun Penne along with their agua Fresca, and Raspberry Cheesecake to all which was a 10/10. If ever back in the area will be stopping by again.
