Panamint Springs Gas Station & General Store

Located along the 190 in remote Panamint Valley in Death Valley National Park this gas station and general store is the only thing for miles so if you need snacks, water or gas be sure to get it here. It's a pretty big store and very clean. They don't have a huge selection of items, but they do have ice cream cones & milkshakes, as well as some touristy chachkies. Not to mention, new and clean bathrooms!

Thanks again to the wonderful staff at the general store/gas station!! I was stranded there with my two friends after my transmission died. The staff was very understanding and let me use their phone several times to call AAA as there was no cell service and the WiFi wasn't strong enough to support a phone call.

Clerk pumped $60 rather my $15 prepay of way overpriced diesel fuel. Since he had run my card by the time I realized the overcharge, I was forced to pay. NEVER patronize these overpriced and dishonest merchants. You are warned.

The clerks at the general store, Alyssa and Richie, were so friendly and accommodating and I looked forward to talking to them each time I stopped in on my vacation. They were very helpful with directions and information with road closures within the park. I did use the shower at the campground and it was very clean and had good hot water.

Had our tire punctured in the middle of Death Valley. Without mobile range that was the worst situation to be in. We were able to somehow make it to this gas station which had a satellite phone so we would make calls to nearby repair shops. But nobody would help us as it was New Year's Eve. Fortunately the manager Aaron came along and put in a plug in the puncture and we were ready to go. We would have to stay the night in the car in the freezing cold if it had not been for Aaron. He is a savior.
